The post mortem As the post-mortem was carried out as soon as probable, within 2 to 3 working days of his death. The post-mortem took place in an examination room that looks similar to an operating theatre. The examination room was licensed and inspected. During the procedure, Dimitri's body was opened and the organs removed for examination. Some diagnosis were made by merely looking at the organs. Some needed to be examined in close detail during the post-mortem. These investigations took several weeks to complete and the pathologist returned the organs to the body after the post-mortem has been completed.
