“Wasn’t it just last week I told you that your secretary was too slow to be in that position?” His grandfather said as he raised his voice even more
“Please calm down, don’t raise your voice, you’re not feeling your best, grandfather” Elvis said, trying to soothe him
“I’m feeling great, Elvis. This was our chance to top the charts again and your stupid secretary ruined it” His grandfather said
“I’m sorry sir, I’ll take care of this as soon as possible” Elvis said, bowing his head ever so slightly
“You had better” Mr Harrison said as he sat down, trying to steady his breathing
When his grandfather had calmed down a bit, Elvis brought up the conversation of other deals they had signed in recent times and that seemed to make him a little happier
“You know I only want the best for you and the company” His grandfather said after a long silence
“I know and I’m grateful for that, I’ll make you proud” Elvis responded
They spent a little more time together, discussing everything from business to family
After a while, Elvis decided to leave
“I’ll be off now grandfather” Elvis said as he stood up, grabbing his jacket from the arm of the chair
His grandfather tried to stand up too to see him off to the car but he was struggling a little more than usual
“Don’t bother grandfather, I’ll be fine” Elvis started as he signaled for him to sit back down
“But would you?” He continued with a concerned look on his face
His grandfather let out a light chuckle before clearing his throat
“It is only when I feel sick that I know you care so much about me, thank you Elvis, I am fine and I’ll be better by tomorrow, I just need rest” Grandfather said
“I’ll call the maid to hang around on my way out and get you anything you need” Elvis said as he bowed his head ever so slightly and made his way out of the house
He signaled to his driver on his way out he got in the car, ready to move
“To my mom’s” Elvis told the driver as he started the car
He figured he might as well use today to see them all since he doesn’t get a free day everyday
While his car circled around their mansion, he called his mother on the phone
“Guess who’s here, mom?” Elvis said with a smile on his face the moment she picked up
“Oh my love” she responded with an emotional smile
“I’ll be down in a minute” she added as she dropped the call
Mrs Fiona Cedric Grant, beautiful brown woman, Elvis’ and Ella’s mother
“How don’t you get bored here?” Elvis asked in a joking tone as he walked over to hug his mom the moment the doors opened
“Who said I don’t?” She replied with a smirk that made Elvis laugh out loud
They hugged for so long and he planted a kiss on her forehead
“I missed you mom” He said as he released himself from her grip
“Me too my boy, you’ve been so busy with work that you don’t stop by anymore and I understand so I don’t distrust your work” His mom responded
She led him to the couch where they talked and talked, catching up on what’s new in both their lives
“You’re staying for dinner right?” She asked but he knew it was more like she was telling him
“I’d love to” He answered
“Good, dinner is ready” she said with a smile as she walked into the kitchen
“For two please, Ms Matilda” she announced while in the kitchen
“Oh, who is our guest for the night?” Ms. Matilda said, pretending to not have heard his voice from the living room
Elvis walked up to her in the kitchen and gave her a side hug and she smiled into his embrace
“How have you been, Ms Matilda?” He asked
“Your mom still takes care of me like she’s always done” Matilda replied as she looked over his shoulder at his mother and smiled
Elvis nodded his head and smiled
“I’ll be in the dining room” he said in his way out of the kitchen
“Dinner would be served soon” Matilda said as she started to plate the meal
At dinner, he noticed his mom looked like she wanted to say something but was restricting
“You can say it, I don’t bite” he said with a light smile on his face
“Elvis” she started
“Yes mom” he responded
“Is there really no woman yet?” She asked in a breath
“And there we have it, I just knew you wanted to say something like that” he said as he let out a loud laugh
She didn’t understand what was funny, she was getting older and needed to see her son happy with his family
“I’m serious, Elvis” she said sternly
“Okay, okay, there really isn’t one yet and…” he started
She looked at him in anticipation
“There might never be” he concluded
“Please, Elvis” she looked down at her plate
He raised her face with his hand
“I said there might not there would, mom, cheer up, I just have a lot of work in focused on now, that isn’t my priority” he said in a breath
She didn’t look satisfied at all
He let out a loud sigh
“Okay mom, I’ll look into it” he said like it was a business document he was signing
She smiled a bit now and he was relieved
Dinner went by quickly and he had to leave
“Call me when you get home” she said as she hugged him once more
“I will mom, bye” he said with a smile as he pulled out from her embrace and walked to his car
He signaled to his driver to get in the car
“Home” he said the moment he got in the car
It was a long day and he was ready to get some rest.
