Vivian's pov.
It wasn't too long before I got acquainted with Jared. He proved to be all the help any human would need in times of distress.
“Hello house”
Oh. That's him.
“In the kitchen” I shouted.
“Good morning ma'am” he bowed respectfully making me laugh.
“Quit the formalities” I smiled.
We've been this close for the past six months. Jared ensured I never took any job that was too strenuous for me.
“Food will be ready in a bit and we can proceed with the day's activities” I smiled.
“Aye aye, captain!” He bowed again.
“You might want to tell me what happened to you this morning” I stood inches closer to him.
“Who wouldn't go nuts to see a beautiful pregnant lady like you?” He gave me that creepy smile.
“Whatever” I returned to my cooking.
Jared was the first person that I opened up to about my situation. He listened to me attentively and allowed me to express my emotions. He was truly a Godsent.
With his help, I was able to work in a company as a secretary but because of my consistent efforts towards the company's goals and objectives, I was promoted to be the manager. Learning the basics was so difficult as I had no formal educational background but everyone in the company was willing to help me. Jared enrolled me to business classes and this helped to maintain my respect in my position.
Looking back, one might actually think this was all planned but it wasn't. Jared owns this company and wants me to manage it.
“Food is ready” I announced.
“You know between your food and face I don't know the one I love the most” he smiled inviting himself to the dinning.
“I'm used to your flirting you might want to try another tactic” I winked.
Jared's pov
These past six months have been fulfilling for me. First thing I do every morning is to start missing Vivian. This was definitely not the plan but I can't help it. Her beautiful face, long legs, curvy hips and deep black hair is enough to feel rejuvenated.

“You surely don't want to mess with a business owner. I know all the tactics to get a person” I boasted mouthful.
“Table manners” That was definitely the end of that discussion.
“Where would we be going to today?” She asked.
“The company first. The mall next and the hospital last” I bowed.
I just love teasing her.
“You surely are doing this on purpose” she said her eyes widely opened.
“Easy peasy ma'am. I forgot you were pregnant ma'am” I bowed again teasing her more.
“Arrrghhhhhh” she screamed pushing me out of the house.
In no time, we were at the company.
“Good morning ma'am”
“Good morning sir”
Greetings echoed everywhere.
“Good morning to you all” she replied respectfully. Guess that's why they would always love her.
“Miss Charlotte, is everyone seated already?” She requested from her assistant.
“Yes ma'am. The shareholders are all waiting patiently for you”
“Alright then”
Vivian's pov
I got into the board room and saw all shareholders waiting patiently for me.
“I'm so sorry” I apologized smiling awkwardly.
“It's no problem. We understand” Mrs Bliss made me less tensed.
“Any issue we need to address?” I made my way to the projector.
“Market demands are slowly falling. Researches conducted has brought to our notice that consumers are complaining of low quality good and this is in no way anybody's fault. Cost of production is now expensive” a shareholder commented.
“Our company's reputation should always be maintained no matter the situation same applies to the quality of our goods. While cost of production might be expensive, consumers enjoy quality rather than quantity. We might just need to increase the price of the products whilst maintaining the quality of them” I explained and they all found the explanation plausible.
“Mr Jared you want to make any contribution I saw your hands raised” I inquired.
“The shareholders are looking at another bright side of this products. We all know New York City to be a commercial centre and that is a market target for our products to make a name. Not only that, if we are able to establish a name, many companies would be willing to partner with us hereby making us achieve our aims and objectives” He said as the others nodded.
“We are looking at a five-year period from now. We would start by looking for a strategic centre to establish the company and begin in the project. In the next five years, that would have been achieved and we would want you, Miss Vivian to be the CEO over there while Mr Jared takes care of this place” Mr Bills announced to me.
Hearing New York City again ran many emotions through my mind.
“If that's what it takes for the company to thrive, I'd willingly accept the position sir. It's an honour” I bowed as the meeting came to an end.
“You don't feel anyhow as regards the company's decision?” Jared asked
“I sincerely don't know what to feel but I've always learnt to dance to nature's tune, breathe and smile” I replied.
“To the mall then”
“Yes to the mall”
We soon made our way to the mall to get few baby items. My pregnancy was 35 weeks gone but my baby bump was not so protruding.
“You have a beautiful wife sir” the attendant told Jared as we made to pay for what we purchased.
“Thank you so much. I'm so lucky to have her in my life” he smiled as he made his payment.
I've gotten used to these comments but I'm also happy that Jared and I understand each other. I also made him understand that I'm not in anyway going to have a romantic relationship with any man. My priority now is my child and our future and he was so cool with my decision.
As I made to take a step, I felt an intense pain in my abdomen that made me scream.
“What's wrong?” Jared asked
“I think my water just broke” I was in tears already.
“Hang in there! I'd get the car right away!”
