Adju ran to hug Kender, squeezing him tightly. "We went to the forest today. And we saw deer and squirrels. Many things."
Wisp smiled. "Darstan knows a lot about the forest. You had a good guide." He tousled Adju's hair as they walked into the other room. "He and his brother, Rahg, used to spend a lot of time in the forest when they were young."
Aenaila had her probing tone at work. "What else did you see?"
His brown face paled. "Ravens, a hawk, even a chipmunk. I have never seen these animals before, Mistress Aenaila."
She stared at Darstan then Adju. "Nothing else?"
