Jago returned from his second attempt to hire a ship, but again with no luck. "No one will dare send a ship out. There has been trouble with pirates."
"There must be ships going out," Wisp said. "Khatara's trade surely hasn't stopped."
Jago shook his head. "No, trade has not stopped, but most merchants now ship goods along the caravan route, not by sea."
Aenaila stood from the table where she sat. "We must have a ship, Jago. If we cannot hire one, we will have to buy one."
"My Lady—"
"We have no option."
Jago bowed, but Wisp interrupted. "Aenaila, even if you can buy a ship, you will still need to hire a crew to sail it, and if the threat of pirates is so strong, that might prove to be the more difficult of the two."
