When they turned the corner Wisp saw the market spreading for two to three hundred paces east to west. Tents towered above houses, and the merchants flew banners over each tent to denote the goods displayed inside. Bolts of silk and other fine fabrics lay boldly exposed for prospective buyers to feel the quality of the goods. Other merchants flaunted the finest gowns for those wives or mistresses who could not bear to be without unique designs. And at each table, the merchants boasted of their offerings being the best. Price was never discussed until a selection was made.
