VASILLA'S POV
I couldn't tell why I wasn't surprised. My gaze darted across the room where the witch was seated beside my father, dazzling in an expensive dress. I couldn't bring myself to call her my mother as no mother would commit such atrocities against her child.
She flashed me an annoying wink and my gaze darkened the next moment. I turned towards Tyler who was leisurely sipping wine like he hadn't done anything. A smirk sprawled across my lips as a mischievous thought ran through my head.
I took a calculative step forward, leaning closer to him and he arched backward in shock. “Come on darling, don't be frightened. Since this is the best time to make perfect announcements, how about letting the crowd know how you shamelessly slept with your mother-in-law and chopped off your younger brother's head, simply because you thought he was better than you?” I whispered in a tone low enough for just the both of us to hear and he gasped in shock.
“You won't dare!” He growled in a low tone and I scoffed before turning towards the crowd with a wide smile.
“Ladies and gentlemen, it's a pleasure to have you all at my Luna ceremony which has now become a mess. I'd love to tell you—-” He grabbed my arm and shoved me backstage in an instant, making me collide against the wall and I winced in pain.
I got on my feet and charged out relentlessly, determined to reveal his evildoing but he gave me a killer glare. “You really want to play games with me, right? Then watch me show you who the master is,” He muttered a threat and I shrugged, waiting for him to do his worst.
“Esteemed guests, I wanted to peacefully part ways with Vasilia but as it stands, I have to fight the love I have for her by telling the truth. This lady here murdered my brother in cold blood for reasons best known to her and she has been making attempts on my life. I tried to overlook and tolerate her excesses but I won't let the love I have for her consume me.”
“Lies! All lies! Everyone, he's lying… he was the one who–”
“Guards, take her to the dungeon!”
“No! No! I know what I'm saying, this man here isn't who you think he is, he's nothing but—”
“Take her away,” The guards seized me by the arm before I could conclude my statement and I tried to wiggle out of their grip.
“Stop!” My father's voice echoed in the hall and there was a little ray of hope as the guards stopped in her tracks.
“Alpha Tyler, It's fine if you no longer want my daughter. I'll take her away and you'll never get to meet her again, that way, she won't pose a threat. I can't let you throw her in the dungeon,” His voice was low, yet audible and the expression on his face, I couldn't tell if it was genuine love or just one of his schemes because he had never loved me since I was born.
“Yes, Alpha Tyler. We plead to go with our daughter till there's evidence of her killing your brother.” The Devil's mistress spoke up, earning a glare from me.
Surprisingly, he asked the guards to let go of me after my mum spoke up and I was shocked. She had so much effect on him but I, his mate, couldn't even get his attention all this while.
She didn't forget to flash me a sinister look afterwards and my stomach clenched as thoughts of committing an actual murder, surged through me.
My father stepped forward and held my wrist, leading me away from the crowd who either had looks of disgust and disdain on their faces as they murmured amongst themselves. I paid no attention to them as he led me out of the hall and I withdrew my hand from his afterwards.
“You are always a thorn to my flesh. I wish you were a boy.”
“I wish so too, as I couldn't have to put up with you. But I'm a weak woman who never does anything right.” I said, all my strong resolve watching away immediately.
The strong guise I had put up falling at my feet, my father didn't say anything to me. But he didn't stop me and I was convinced then that he didn't hate me fully like I had always thought.
“It's fine. Let's go home, but you will need to leave.
The next morning I stared at my reflection in the bathroom brass mirror, and I could barely recognize my frail and pale looking self. I looked like the shadow of myself.
Inhaling deeply as I shut my eyes, filling my lungs with the air conditioned air and fragrance of the bathroom wash. I held my breath in the bid of adding colour to my face.
I was desperately trying to get a grip on my emotions as I felt like dying. Not like death ever took any heed of my please, leaving me to the cold hands of life.
I didn't know when hot tears escaped from my eyes, streaming down my cheeks and some got into my mouth. The salty taste reminds me of my salty and stale life.
I wanted to vent my frustration out on something or someone, I wanted to scream at the top of my weak lungs to let the pain out. But that would be dramatic and I don't want others to look at me with pity in their eyes like I was a hopeless cause; I am but the looks made me more self conscious.
“Ivy!” Samantha called out, and I wiped my eyes. Putting up a smile on my face and my expression looked like the perfect wife, Tyler the Alpha's son wanted. But inside, I was the little girl who cried on her parents grave every night after my stepmother's regular beating and starving.
Shaking my head lightly and I walked out of the bathroom, before Samantha would tell her mom, my mom that I was intentionally delaying the bathroom.
“Why would you delay that much to respond to my call?” She asked, and I bowed my head in submission as I didn't want a slap.
“Go and get your gift, you need to hand a gift to your mate in the mating ceremony. Don't tell me you forgot it in the bathroom, you daft slow thing.” Eliza, my stepmom asked.
“I'm sorry, I would go and get them immediately.” I replied, rushing off immediately to my room. Picking up the gift I had been given to wrap the night before and I walked back rushing to the hall.
“Yes, that's it. f**k me deeper.” I heard, and I couldn't mistake the voice ever. Amelia, but who was she having s*x with?
The doors were slightly left apart and I peered in, and a gasp escaped from my lips. Tyler? Why?
I ran out immediately not having the heart to confront them as it was their words against me. And who would believe an omega over the future Alpha.
I was getting sold to the Alpha of the next pack, Damian.
Who would want someone like that for a mate? He was pure……
