It's been 2 days now and I haven't gone to school, neither have we been able to find Emma. There has been no sight of the demons.
Might it actually all be over, or are they planning on something different? Is Emma going to be fine or have they killed her? I said to myself while lying down on my bed with deep regret. Her parents are going to be looking for her right now, and we might get arrested. Should I just tell the police or... forget it, they won't believe me. Oh, maybe they would if I showed them proof, but if I did, I would be used as a lab rat because I am also now half a demon myself.
Damn it, life has really changed so fast. Everything is so confusing, and I don't know what to do. I am scared. It's my fault that Emma was taken in the first place; if I had been useful, she would have been here with us. But this isn't fully my fault—it's the school's fault, the fault of the principal. Maybe if my aunty didn't die, she would have been here with me and it wouldn't have happened. I hit my head with my hands. How stupid am I? Why am I blaming my aunty for what I did? This is my fault, not anybody's. As soon as I start accepting it's my fault, I might know what next to do. At least, that's what I think.
I stood up from my bed and decided to go take a shower. After that, I got dressed. I think it's best to discuss this with the team; they probably wouldn't even trust me again after what happened, and I am very sure they hate me. As soon as I hold the door knob, the door bell rang. I looked through the hole on the door and saw it was the police and Emma's parents.
Holy sh*t.
I walked back slowly in fear. What do I do now? What do I do? The door bell continued ringing and I could hear them saying, "I saw him with her before she went missing, he probably has something to do with it."
"I can't open the door," I said to myself. No way am I going to open the door; I would be arrested. I ran to my room and crawled out through the window and ran away. I have to go and meet the guys and inform them now. I was running as fast as I could, then a car honked at me while coming at full speed. I fell, but the car was about to stop right in time. I continued running while the driver of the car was shouting loudly at me.
Knock-knock.
I knocked at Max's house and his parents were home. "Are you a friend of Max?" I said, "Yes." She said, "Come in," and I said, "Thank you."
"Max is in his room," she said while taking me there.
"Thank you, ma," I said to her. After she left, I realized everybody was there.
"What are you doing here?" Max said in anger. "What's your plan this time, huh?"
"I’m sorry, I just wanted to tell you that the police might be coming here. They were at my house a few mins ago and I just came rushing in here to tell you."
"Damn, this is really bad, we are done for," Henry said. I looked to my left and saw Elizabeth. Her face was red like she's been crying for a very long time. She was looking down at Emma's picture; I guess they were best friends. They seemed so close.
Max was already grabbing things off the shelf, tossing them into his bag like every second counted. Then he turned on me.
“Hey. Get out.”
I stared. “Huh? I don’t understand. Why?”
“Because this is all your fault.” His voice was low, sharp. “If you’d been faster. If you’d used your witchcraft powers, this wouldn’t have happened.”
He took a step forward. Another. I didn’t back up fast enough. His fist hit me hard across the jaw. My mouth was bleeding with blood. I wiped my mouth with my arms.
"Okay, I will leave."
Max stormed back and continued what he was doing. "You better leave now!"
I left the house. With nowhere to go, I went to an old abandoned church, sitting lost in thoughts and laying down on the floor. "What am I supposed to do?" I said to myself as tears flowed down my face. I closed my eyes and opened them back after a minute and found myself in the same place I was with the Demon Queen the last time.
The Demon Queen walked up to me and sat beside me, holding my hands for a minute in total silence. Then she said to me, "What's wrong, my sweetheart? Why are you crying? Is it because your friends disapprove of you and hate you?"
I muttered, "They aren't my friends."
She held my chin and smiled softly. "Oh, they aren't? But you guys have been working together like a team the whole time and you guys are getting close."
"No, we aren't," I replied.
She giggles. "You look so handsome when you cry, Oliver. Come here." She put my head on her lap and said, "You can always cry to me whenever you feel like."
I could feel the warmth of her breast over my head, and it looked so soft and big. She caught me staring at her breast. "Would you like to feel them?" she said to me with a playful smile on her face.
I blushed. "Maybe another time. Do you know why they banished me from everywhere?"
I shrugged and said, "Yes."
She looked down at me and said, "Is it because I am a Demon Queen and I destroyed worlds? Well, then you are correct, but it's mostly because I am almost unstoppable."
I looked at her directly into her dark, beautiful eyes and asked, "But why do you destroy? Is it that you gain pleasure in killing and watching people suffer?"
She laughed out loudly and said, "Well yes, I do enjoy that. And because I am the Devil's sister, it's in our lineage to bring destruction to the world. But I don't really know if I enjoy it or I forced myself to enjoy it."
"Then why do you do it?"
"Because I wanted to be the next queen of Hell and make my brother proud, but I ended up more powerful than him. Then he got jealous and tried to kill me, afraid that I would no longer need or approve of him anymore."
"Damn, that's gotta be painful. I know you guys are evil and all, but it's rough for your brother to betray you like that. And come to think of it, it's strange to be talking to a demon, more so the Devil's own sister, and few days ago I was just an ordinary kid."
She smiled and patted me on my head gently. "Well, after he turned to kill me and it failed, I got angry and destroyed half of Hell and wasn't satisfied. I went up and broke into Heaven and started to destroy, but I was quickly pushed back down into Earth. And I didn't stop; I continued terrorizing the Earth. And the archangels from Heaven came down to fight me day and night with the devils and demons too. And something strange happened that hasn't happened before—I lost most of my powers, leaving me with lesser powers, and I was cast into Nothing."
Chills ran down my spine and I felt fear. "What is this Nothing place you talk about?"
She looked terrified about remembering it. "It is a place with no colors, no light, no darkness, no sound or silence. It felt like nothing existed, like I didn't exist, and it felt not like eternity but as if the world was never created. It's my worst fear and I am the only person who has ever been placed there."
"Damn, that sounds worse than Hell," I replied.
"Yeah, it is."
I looked at her and held her face, and I felt relieved that I am with her. Because she's the only person who understands me despite she's a demon; she felt like an angel. She whispered into my ear, "Don't worry anymore, you are here with me, and you can always come to me," while smiling at me.
I asked, "So what are those demons? Why aren't they chasing us again? What do they want, and why did they take Emma away?"
"Those demons are from Hell. They were sent by the devil Lucifer, my brother. He sent them to kill me and every trace of me. Since I am in a human body, trapped in it, it would be easier to kill me if he kills you. And he kidnapped Emma because she has a little part of me in her body too, same with her friends, but not as much as you do. They stopped chasing you temporarily; they will be back soon. They just wanted to regroup and plan again. They won't stop until they have all of you guys."
"Where is she?"
She sighed. "I wish I knew, baby, but she wouldn't have gotten far. She would still be on Earth, not yet in Hell."
"Why do you think so?"
"I just know," she replied.
"Well, it's fine, if you say so. And what's up with my principal and the secret cult who summoned you and how?"
"They summoned me because they wanted to use my powers to become like gods and rule. And they summoned me because they have been trying it for hundreds of years with some old ancient magic, involving the slow removal of people's souls. So basically, the cult is hundreds of years old and they are using the students' souls. That's how I was summoned. The school was just part of their plans to get more souls to use."
My stomach dropped hard as I heard all of this. My hands were shaking, sweat all over my face, my eyes weren't stable. It felt like I just saw a ghost.
"Wh…what? No, how? It can't be possible…" I held my head in disbelief.
She looked down at me and said, "Yes, it's all true. I wouldn't lie to you. And only you have the power to save your friends; it depends on how you handle it."
I looked at her slowly and in fear while my hands were trembling. "But I’m scared. I can't use your powers. What if I lose control and destroy the world?"
She looked at me and smiled while petting me on my head and touching my hair. "Don't worry yourself, you won't lose control. Just believe in yourself and believe in me. You won't learn unless you try, or else there will only be tragedy and you will leave with the regrets of not doing anything, just like what happened with Emma. You could have used your strength to save her, but you didn't—not because you're weak, but because you decided you want to be weak. You limited your mind, and that's what's holding you down. Try and free your mind. But you still have a chance at saving her. I would direct you, but you would have to be willing to use your abilities, okay?"
And then she leaned forward to me and kissed me hard while her breast was right on my chest. It was so relaxing and calming. When I opened my eyes, I was back to the real world—but not at the church, but in a forest which I know not of. I smiled and my face was very red thinking about her, but I had to draw myself back to reality or I might die here. Who knows what kind of beast lives in this forest? And I am sensing it's not an ordinary forest but a magical one. I moved forward and said to myself, "Where are we?" Hold on—thankfully the Demon Queen will speak to me. And to my surprise, she did speak to me and appeared to me like a spirit, but she looks and feels human.
My heart was racing. She looks more beautiful seeing her in the real world; my face was turning red again.
"Stop blushing, handsome. I can't stay long in this body, so we will have to move fast before I enter into your body back."
I nodded at her and we kept moving forward.
