The day goes on with work while I stay in his office texting Leila.
The next day was a Sunday,a day off for them.
He invites them over for lunch and games.
As they come in,they spot me sitting on the couch on my phone.
Jamie-“Oh hellooo senoritá”
Robert-“I spy with my little eyes something pretty sitting on the couch”.
I chuckle a little, clearly starting to enjoy their company.
“I swear, you two are such man children. Can you not go five seconds without saying something stupid?”
We all play games for the rest of the day, ordering different kinds of snacks to eat.
In the evening,we took shots but not enough to make us drunk.
Jamie and Robin left to their various homes while Aiden and I sat in the couch.
“Hey,i keep seeing that piano over there. Is it for decorations or you actually play?”
He takes some time before he answers, like he’s ashamed.
“Yeah….I play”.
“You never told me”,I frown, walking to the piano.
“It doesn’t matter”
“Oh yes it does!Come and play for me”
He follows after me.
“Fine. One song… and that's it.”
He walks around to the bench, sitting stiffly, his body tense as he positions his hands over the keys.
He lets out a slow breath, the tension in his shoulders easing slightly as he looks up at me—his expression softening just enough to show he knows he’s being an ass.
His fingers hover over the keys before finally pressing down—playing something soft, hesitant…
He closes his eyes as he plays, the music coming naturally—clearly something he's done for a long time. The notes are soft, beautiful… almost sweet,it melts my heart. He’s still tense—the rigid set of his shoulders a clear sign that he's fighting a battle in his head even as the music spills from the keys. But there's something so damn attractive about knowing I’ve gotten past his walls in a way no one else has. He plays for a few minutes more, the tension finally seeming to ease as he finally looks up at me.
“Happy now?”
“That was amazing Aiden. You kept this from me the whole time?”
“‘Amazing" is a bit of an exaggeration… but thanks. Now get your ass back over here, sweetheart.”
“Why didn’t you tell me babe”,I frown.
“ …I don't know. I don't like people knowing I can play like that. Makes me feel… Vulnerable.I don't tell anyone. That's the point. It's private. But… for you, I'm making an exception. You get to see this part of me nobody else does, sweetheart. You better not forget it.”
“You’ve really not introduced me to all the parts of your home…you know…
I’m still not used to it,c’mon, show me around babe”.
He growls softly when I take his hand—fingers tightening around mine.He guides me out of the room, heading down the long hallway with purposeful strides.
“You're gonna get a little tour, at least. But if you think I'm letting you wander around here without me, you're out of your damn mind. I've been hiding this stuff for years… I'm not letting you nose your way through my secrets without at least some supervision.”
He's clearly half-joking… but there's a hint of seriousness in his voice too.
He leads me down the hallway, pointing out different rooms.
“Downstairs bathroom. Gym. Study. The guest bedroom. Office.”
He stops in front of a closed door, his hand still holding mine.
“And my office. Nobody is allowed in there—not even the goddamn housekeepers. It's like a damn safe room.”
“Hmm.What’s that room over there?”
His grip on my hand tightens the second i mention that room—
“No. That one’s off limits, sweetheart. We're done with the tour for tonight. Time for bed.”
“I wanna see what’s inside. Please”,I give him my puppy eyes.
His jaw clenches as he reluctantly steps toward the door.
“ …Fine. But don’t say I didn’t warn you if it ruins your damn mood for the rest of the night.”
His fingers hesitate on the doorknob before finally turning it and pushing open—revealing a room covered in half-finished paintings… all clearly portraits of ME.
