Not my student...

Elaine watched Elizabeth walk to her desk all the way in the back, taking in her appearance. She was wearing a pair of rather dark blue jeans, a tighter black shirt that hugged her body, though she covered up the shirt with a black jacket. Once Elizabeth took her seat and looked forward she noticed the silver lip and eyebrow ring, as well as her bright blue eyes and suddenly she remembered where she had seen the girl before. She was the girl at that locker. Elaine thought to herself as she remembered seeing the girl scrubbing spray paint off of her locker a few classes before. Mentally she shook her head and looked back at the class as a whole, giving a kind smile before she finished calling roll. Once she finished she put her clip board down, walking to the whiteboard behind her to write her name for the class to see. Elaine smiled sweetly as she capped the marker and turned back around to face the class once more. "Well, as you can all see my name is Ms. Watson and I'll be your history teacher this year. Now, I want you all to get used to having me as a teacher so I'm going to have a chance for us to get to know each other. When I call your name, I want you to stand up, tell me your age and a few things about yourself." Elaine said before she looked down at the roster on her desk, calling out the first name that was on the list. The first boy rose and did as Elaine asked before sitting back down and allowing the next person to be called up. The class continued like this without much happening until a brunette by the name of Allison stood up. There was something about the way that everyone looked at her when she stood that told Elaine that the girl was most likely popular. "Well, I'm 17 and some of my favorite things to do are; painting, hanging out with my friends and driving around in my Civic." Allison said with a small smirk before glancing back at Elizabeth as she sat back down. "Go to hell." Elaine heard Elizabeth mumble as she looked up from whatever she had been drawing the entire time that the rest of the class was introducing themselves, Elaine was about to tell Elizabeth to watch her language while in class when suddenly Allison responded, a smile on her face as she did so. "Something bothering you there freak?" Allison asked while a couple of other people in the class either chuckled or snickered. Elaine raised her eyebrows slightly while looking around at the different people in the room to see their reactions before looking over at Elizabeth. She had her hands on the sides of her desk, gripping it rather tightly and her eyes were closed. It was as if she was trying to get ahold of herself before responding to what Allison had just said. "Have a go at me all you want but you leave my parents out of this, you have no right to bring that up." Elizabeth practically growled at Allison while the girl only smiled wider. Deciding that it was best to keep things from going on any further Elaine cleared her throat slightly and looked between the two girls. "Ladies, please. If you're going to have a fight, do it somewhere else, just not in my classroom and as for you Miss Grey, please watch your language in class." Elaine said while looking at the very girl she was speaking to. Elizabeth nodded before mumbling something along the lines of. 'I'm sorry. Yes Mr. Watson.' Allison immediately laughed before turning to whisper something to the person next to her. Elaine heard the word b***h and a few giggles. "Oh, and Miss Green, if you have something to share please do so with the whole class and not only to the young lady beside you. Also watch your language as well." Elaine said before watching Elizabeth smile slightly at the reaction that she had gotten from Allison. Complete shock, as if she hadn't expected to get caught. Elaine also smiled before going back to calling out the next name that was on the roster. After a short period of time it was Elizabeth's turn to stand up in front of the class to say something about herself, as well as her age, and Elaine was oddly excited to learn at least a few more things about the dark-haired beauty. She called Elizabeth's name once or twice before finally getting the girl to look up after the third time of calling her name. Elizabeth seemed really interested in what she was drawing which was most likely why it took her a little longer than the others to finally stand up. "I'm sorry about that, I didn't hear you the first time. Anyway, I'm 17 like most of the other kids here and I only have a few hobbies. I like to draw, obviously and I tend to keep to myself. So, yeah. That's me." Elizabeth said a little softly before sitting back down in her chair. Elaine smiled softly before watching the girl go back to her drawing. She called out the rest of the names on the roster before smiling at the class and telling a few things about herself as well, knowing it was only fair that she say something as well. "I'm not going to tell you my age, but I will tell you that I am the youngest teacher here in this school. Now, as for things about me. I love teaching and I only have a few rules when it comes to the classroom and that's about all you're going to find out about me for now." Elaine said while smiling. After talked about herself she started to explain to the class how exactly things were going to work in her class room. Elaine explained the rules about being tardy and keeping personal business at the door, because she wasn't going to be bringing any of her personal business into the classroom, meaning that her students shouldn't either. She continued telling them about the rules until the bell rang and released them from 8th period so that they could go to their final class of the day before they were allowed to go home. Elaine took her seat at her desk before watching all the students in her class start to get up and gather their things at a rather fast pace, most likely thankful that they only had one class left until there were free. Soon all the room was clear of all but one student. That student was sitting at the back of the classroom, her head down as she continued to draw as if the bell had never even rung. Elizabeth. Elaine smiled a little before slowly getting up from her chair, walking back to the girl. Once she was next to Elizabeth's desk she looked to see what had caught the girls' attention the whole-time class was going on. Elaine looked down and saw that Elizabeth had been drawing what looked like a manga. Yes, Elaine knew what a manga was. There were two pages laid out on the table and Elizabeth was currently working on a third. Elaine couldn't exactly tell what was going on in the story because the pages seemed to come from the middle of the story and they weren't in order, but she could tell that they had been drawn with true skill. Finally deciding that it was about time that the girl get to her next class, Elaine lightly rested her hand on Elizabeth shoulder, pulling it back almost immediately at the fact that Elizabeth had jumped slightly. Elaine gasped when Elizabeth jumped before collecting herself, having been a little startled. "I-I didn't meant to startle you, I just thought that you would like to know the bell rang already." Elaine said with a soft smile as Elizabeth nodded and mumbled a 'thank you' before starting to back her bag. Elaine walked back to her desk and took a seat once more. After a moment Elaine looked up at the sound of the voice being called out by Elizabeth. "I'm really sorry about what happened in class. Allison can be a bit. . . cruel and a b***h, sorry about the language but I can't think of any other one that fits her better. I'll make sure that I keep everything at the door next time." Elizabeth said softly before giving a slight nod as Elaine said it was okay. Elizabeth headed to the door before Elaine bit her lip slightly, standing as she called the girl back. "Hey, if she keeps bothering you and you need someone to talk to about anything, don't hesitate to come to me okay? I know I'm not a counselor, but I can help." Elaine said, a little worried about what Elizabeth could be going through all day if Allison acted like that in her class alone. "Thanks Ms. Watson, but I'm sure I'll be able to handle whatever she dishes out. Thank you though." Elizabeth answered before turning and walking out of the room finally. Elaine sighed rather heavily and plopped back into her chair, biting her lip slightly. She already knew this school year was going to be different than all the other years she had been teaching and that was for one reason. Elizabeth Grey.
