Their Infinity

Chapter 16

Ananya's POV:

        I reached the Hotel and went towards Abhay's car. He was in a cranky mood which he always is by the way. Not bothering by his mood, I followed him inside. The Clients were already waiting for us. They had ordered food already. We sat along with them. One of the clients who was slightly old asked, " Who is this beautiful lady?" Before I could answer for myself, Abhay decided to open his big mouth, "She is my personal Assistant, Ananya." The other man with him who was slightly younger and attractive also but not that attractive as Abhay ' Oh God, why did I compare him with this monster?' spoke, "You are indeed lucky to have such a pretty assistant" and he winked at me. I was slightly uncomfortable with that gesture but I didn't say anything. 

          They started discussing about the project and I was taking notes. I was listening intently to the clients and then the younger man said, " It looks like you want to add something, Ananya." I did want to say something but I didn't wanna piss the monster so I looked at him. He shaked his head in a way to say go ahead. Then I told them about my idea. And both the clients looked very happy. Just then, the food arrived. They had ordered non veg food. I wanted to puke looking at all that. I excused myself and went to the washroom. I don't even like the sight of non veg food. ' I cannot go back there. I definitely will puke my guts out. Should I just text monster that I am not feeling well and leave? Would that be appropriate? No, I should go and tell him personally. What's the worst that could happen? He could fire you duh, my brain chided.' 

        I took a deep breath and went towards our table. Ignoring the urge to puke, I tried to stay calm. The old man asked me, " Why aren't you eating anything? Don't you like the food here? You look sick, do you want to go home?" The old man's concers just melted my heart. He knew me since one hour only and he had so much concerns and look at my monster boss eating there as if he has been hungry for years. I had to say something so I said, " Actually sir, I don't eat non veg and I am not hungry too." He didn't coax me further. After a few minutes, Abhay got an important call and he excused to answer it. I was left alone on the table with these two gentlemen. 

        The older man said, " So what are your future plans beta?" I told him that i haven't thought of anything as such. I just want to make my parents proud and be good at whatever I do. 

The younger guy whose name was Veer said, " Actually, I have a better offer for you.You should join our company. We will offer you a better position with better salary. And we also treat out employees much better than your present boss."

          I don't know why but I felt angry when he spoke like that about Abhay. I just spoke in a hurry, " I am sorry to say that sir but I cannot accept your offer. I am very happy in A K enterprises.  And about Abhay sir, he is really a very good boss. It's just that he doesn't compromise on his work. He not only works hard but also ensures that his employees work hard and get their proper due."

         Veer spoke again, " Now you might be feeling like that but my offer is open to you. Here is my card, keep it. In case you change your opinion later, you are always welcome in my company." 

         Before I could say anything, Abhay arrived and said, " I am sorry gentlemen but I have an important meeting to attend. So I will have to get going. Ananya, let's go." 

         According to his schedule there were no more meetings today. Which meeting was he talking about? I decided to not say anything in front of the clients and followed him after exchanging pleasantries with the father-son duo. 

         After we were away from them,  I opened my curious mouth and asked him, 'As far as I know, there is no more meeting today. Then why did you lie inside?" 

          He looked at me with a smirk and said, " Now, do I have to schedule all my meetings after asking you Miss Ananya?"

           I so wanted to press his neck at that time but I just said, "No sir." 

           " Ok, so come with me, we need to go somewhere important." 

           "Tell me the address and I will come by auto."

           "You and your fear. I have found out a solution for that."

            "Huh? You will also come in auto with me?", I asked stupidly. 

            " No Miss Genius. I have a better plan. Look, here it is." 

           And there his driver came in a different car this time. ' What genius idea is this? Will I be less afraid in a different car? Why this stupid person does not understand a simple thing.' While I was lost in these thoughts, he went towards the car sat in the driver's seat and opened the whole roof. I was left sppechless. He did this for me? He got a convertible car for me? Have I judged him wrong?'

         " Close your mouth Miss Ananya. A fly might go in. Now stop staring and come and sit fast. I am getting late."

         I couldn't say anything and just went and sat beside him. I didn't feel any fear. This was the first time I sat in any car after that incident. I was overwhelmed and tears started to flow from my eyes. He looked towards me and he noticed that I was crying.

           " Woah, now what. Don't tell me you are still scared. You don't need to cry. We will find an another solution, " he kept on saying things. 

          Finally, I stopped sobbing and told him, " I am sorry sir but these are tears of happiness. Actually, there is a reason why I am afraid of cars.  It happened three years ago and since then I haven't sat in any car. And today, it just feels surreal. Thank you so much for everything."

          "Ohh. It's ok. Now please don't cry again." Then he started the car and I didn't know where we were going. He suddenly stopped and looked at me disapprovingly. ' Now, what did I do?' 

           "Ananya, are you a baby? Do I have to tell you to tie the seat belt". Before I could reach for it, he unbuckled his seat belt and stretched towards my side to tie my seat belt. We were just inches apart and I could smell his cologne. He smelled so good. Just by being this close he was making me weak. ' Oh God, why does he have this effect on me?' After finishing that we again started to move. I was completely oblivious to the fact that this day is soon going to be one of the reasons I want to live.
