Chapter 6
*Xaydens’s POV*
I hear the bridal march come on and see Briella making her way down the aisle, her father couldn’t even walk her down. Pathetic, forcing her into a marriage and can’t even walk her down the aisle what kind of father is he? Looking at him I can see no emotion on his face, like he doesn’t even care that he is forcing this on his daughter. He definitely only thinks of himself. Where is Briella’s mother during this? I can’t help but wonder. I know mothers love weddings and are very protective of their children. Something definitely isn’t right with this whole situation. I will get to the bottom of this and when I do my mate will be by my side where she belongs.
Looking back at Briella, my beautiful mate, I force myself to stay in place and plan to let the wedding take place no matter how much it is killing me. I will get her back once I figure out the truth behind this marriage and what is really happening within the Redwood Pack. I shake my head and try to focus my thoughts, just as I look back up the beta has grabbed her hand and I hear myself let out a loud possessive growl that rips through the room getting everyone’s attention. Crap now they all will know she is my mate and ruin the plan that I had come up with.
I quickly mind link my men that I have brought with me “a fight is about to happen prepare yourselves and protect Briella, the bride, your future Luna at all costs but don’t attack until I give the signal.” I order.
In unison they all respond “yes, sir!” Thankfully I listened to my gut and brought more men with me on this trip than I normally do, they are going to be needed.
Walking towards Briella and the beta I can’t help the anger boiling inside me. Trying to calm myself I lock eyes with her, I could get lost in her eyes but right now they aren’t helping much. The beta has now pushed her behind him, and I see his eyes quickly gloss over to mind link someone and switch back to normal. I can hear her let out a soft chuckle while never breaking eye contact with me, which makes my heart start pounding even more. I quickly shake my head and turn to face the beta “you will not be marrying this woman today, or ever for that matter.” I say as calmly as possible.
“I was promised her hand in marriage and I will have it.” He says with a surprisingly calm tone while wrapping his arm around her waist.
Blaze takes complete control at that moment, there is no stopping him once he loses his s**t. Grabbing the beta by his throat and lifting him off the floor, he yells in his face “She is my MATE!” putting emphasis on the word mate. Squeezing his throat making him gasp for air brings a smile to my face.
“NO!” is all I hear coming from my mates’ mouth as I see her being dragged away by two guards. I toss the beta into the wall behind him and run toward Briella. She is kicking and fighting to get free from them but they refuse to let her go.
“If there is so much as a bruise on her arm, I will rip your heads off!” I yell at them. At that moment I am punched in the jaw forcing me to stop. I realize I am surrounded by 10 men trying to stop me. I easily fight off the first two, and notice some of the others have shifted. I don’t have time to shift myself when three of them lunge at me. I manage to grab one, snap his neck and throw him to the side, when another one jumps at my face snapping trying to bite me. Punching him in the throat and grabbing hold of his neck ready to snap it, I hear a growl come from the other side of the room. Looking up I see a huge wolf running at us, I can’t help but smile when I realize its Briella.
“f**k!” I shout as I am knocked to the ground with a wolf on my back digging his claws into my sides. Trying to turn over to face him I see Briella fly through the air, knocking him off my back throwing him across the room. I about lose all the breath in my lungs when she turns back to check on me, I give her a quick nod and a small smile so she isn’t distracted from her fight.
I quickly shift to continue the fight when I hear a loud yelp and see my mate come crashing to the floor with a loud thud. I growl and try to make my way to her but am stopped by a group of wolves who are now blocking my way to her. “How many men did they bring to this wedding?” I quickly ask Xayden.
“You have already torn through the Blue Moons men. This is the guards of the Redwood Pack” he responds with anger laced in his voice. Clearly, he is frustrated that Briella’s dad has sided with the Blue Moon Pack and not her mate. He shouldn’t be surprised though with the way her dad has been acting through all this. Knowing I will probably die right now I lunge at the group of wolves fighting them all, I need to make it to my mate and will let nothing stop me.
My men are quickly at my side taking over the fight allowing me to run to where Briella is, looking around I can’t find her anywhere.
