After carrying Layla up to the room, I could only feel one thing: regret.
She was so broken. She looked nothing like the beautiful girl I'd picked up from her house nights ago. She looked different. Her lips had been dried out, some parts even breaking and peeling off. Her eyes were swollen from all the cries, her body bruised.
I doctored her over the night. She never woke up, she just laid there, unconscious.
