Chapter Two Billie The backpack was beginning to be a bit of a drudge, but Billie was determined not to let it get to her. Her soil and water samples were the reason it was weighing her down, but she kept telling herself it was only a temporary discomfort. She"d be able to unload the dozen or so plastic containers once she reached her campsite. She exited the trail and hiked up the small rise.
