Ariella's nod was accompanied by a sense of form resolve; she listened to every detail of their conversations and wanted to put her heart and mind into protecting the town. She was ready to roll up her sleeves to do whatever it took to help protect the community she loved. As the council member took his leave, Ariella's father turned to her with a grave and solemn expression, his eyes conveying a sense of urgency and importance,“ Ariella I need to discuss something with you that requires your utmost attention and understanding. The werewolves that have been attacking our town are not simply brutal and savage creatures driven by a primary urge to hunt and kill. On the contrary, they are highly sophisticated, organized, and calculating creatures, possessed of a calculating and intelligent nature. This makes them a far more menacing and formidable foe, and one that requires utmost attention. “It is important that we exercise extreme caution and vigilance.” Ariella's father said. Ariella nodded her head in understanding, a sense of unity and solidarity washing over her; she knew that her father was deeply concerned, and she felt an overwhelming desire to offer her support and assistance. With a sense of determination, Ariella committed herself to standing alongside her father. As she worked, Ariella couldn't help but think about Kael, and she found herself wondering if he was involved in the towns effort to protect itself against the werewolves. Over the next few days, Ariella found herself becoming more and more involved in the town’s effort to protect itself against werewolves. She helped her father stock up on wolf's bane, and she even joined a group of town’s people who were working on a system to create alarms and warnings to alert the town, to alert the town in case of a werewolf attack. Kael and Tessa sit next to a fireplace, taking their mugs of ale. “Kael you need to be careful hanging out with Ariella,” Tessa said. “Why, are you jealous?” Kael replied. “No, I'm not jealous. I'm just worried now that the town is aware that werewolves are back, it's not safe for you to be hanging out with her. Kael raised an eyebrow. “What are you talking about? Ariella is not like the other humans; she is different.” She isn't aware of the werewolf situation in this town, I made sure of that. “What do you mean by you made sure of that Kael?” Tessa asked. What did you do to her? Relax, Tessa. I just compelled her to forget what she saw. “What did she see? Did she see you in your wolf form?” answered me, Kael. “Why are you making this issue serious? It's not that serious, Tessa”, Kael replied with a frown on his face. “Ariella may be different, but it doesn't matter, the fact is that we are werewolves, humans will always be threatened by us,” “You're the alpha of this pack in this town; it's time you start acting like one and stop being irresponsible,.” Tessa said. With a strong frown, Kael replied, “Yes, and as the alpha of this town, I choose to hang out with whomever I like,” I'm sick of your questions. “Listen, Kael, I'm not saying Ariella is a bad person or whatever; I'm just saying we need to be careful; we can't let our guard down, not even for a minute.” Kael knew Tessa was right, but he couldn't help the way he felt; just as Kael was about to gulp ale, the door to the tavern burst open, and a tall dark-haired male entered the tavern. “Kael, Tessa” I need to speak to both of you. “What is it?” Tessa asked. One of the blondfang members attacked us. “When did this happen,” Kael replied with emotions of anger and rage. “Yesterday night Kael, it happened yesterday night. We lost a member of our pack,” he was bitten. “We need to be avoiding situations like this, humans are already looking for ways to attack us, and we are here fighting each other,” Tessa says with a look of worry. We need to do something about this, Kael; we have to take a fast approach. “I agree, but you have to be careful because situations like this can be dangerous. With humans looking to eliminate us, we have to be smart about what we are doing “ As the night wore on, Kael and Tessa continued to talk about their plans to retaliate and take out a member of the blonding group. “You have to do everything in your power to protect our pack Kael,” Tessa said. Ariella, going through her mother's research, found sometimes fascinating facts about the wolf's bane plant; she didn't know the wolf's bane could kill a werewolf even in its human. According to the books, the wolf's bane was a powerful plant that had been used for centuries to protect humans from a werewolf attack; Ariella thought wolf's bane was only important for healing humans. “No wonder the council member said we need a lot of wolf's bane to attack the werewolves,” she thought. She then discovers that even the smell of the wolf's bane plant can drive a werewolf crazy. As she read the books, she saw a particular passage that said, “It can cause them to become aggressive and even lead to a loss of control over their actions.” Over the next few hours, Ariella was still fully focused on her research; she couldn't think about anything else. Taking notes from her mothers research and putting the pieces of information she gathered together for her to get a better understanding of the wolf's bane plant. She didn't even notice the day was fast spent and the sun was starting to set. “Ariella, you need to take some rest; you have been doing your research for hours now. You can't learn everything about wolf's bane in a day,” Ariella's father said. “I know, Dad, but I need to get more information about this wolf's bane; remember you said we need to protect our town? Well, this is me trying to protect our town by researching about the wolf's bane,” Ariella said. I know you're playing your part, but you need to take some rest and gather your strength, you have a much larger role to play.” Ariella decided to follow her father's word and take a rest. When she walked to her window and realized that it was already dark, she was surprised. Days passed by, and Ariella continued to do her research on wolf's bane; she was so engrossed with the knowledge she had gained from her mother that she couldn't stop reading it. “What is Kael up to, I haven't seen him for days.” Ariella thought. Ariella stood and decided to go out for a stroll and then branch to see Kael in his workshop. She held the knob of the door trying to open it, and then she bumped into someone. “ooh wow, why didn't you tell me you were coming today,” Ariella said, with a feeling of disgust. “Is this a proper way to greet your elder brother?” Good evening, I'm sorry about how I greeted you; I didn't expect you. By the way, “What are you doing here?” Ariella asked Shawn. “Are you chasing me out of my father's house already, maybe you've forgotten that he is also my father.” Shawn gave an evil smirk. “You hate coming here, so don't blame me for asking you what you're doing here,” Ariella said. Quit asking me questions, Ariella, and let me in. Ariella opened the door for Shawn, “By the way, where are you going?” Shawn asked. “I'm going for a stroll,” Ariella replied. “Well, that will have to wait,” Shawn said. Won't you keep your elder brother company? You know family is everything “You're not my brother; you're my stepbrother; there's a difference,” Ariella said annoyingly. “You must hate me so much, not to acknowledge me as your brother,” Shawn said with a sense of surprise. Ariella ignored Shawn's question and looked the other way out of the room. By blood or not by blood, we are siblings, and siblings spend time with each other. “What's smelling in here, it's giving a toxic smell,” Shawn said. “I can't smell anything; the house smells perfectly fine,” Ariella said, giving a confused stare. I can smell something, “there, yes there, the smell is coming from that room” “Do you mean my room,” Ariella replied confused. What's there? Shawn walks into Ariella's room. “No, don't go there, don't go to my room,” Shawn barged into Ariella's room. Shawn couldn't believe what he saw, “A, Ariel…..Ariella, what are you doing with Wolf's Bane?” Shawn asked. I'm researching the plant. “By the way, how do you know it's wolf's bane.” “What did Dad say about the wolf's bane you have here?” Shawn asked. It was Dad's idea to bring wolf's bane into this house, So you mean there's wolf's bane all over this house? “No, not yet,” Ariella answered. What do you mean by not yet? Dad wants to put wolf's bane in every room of this house. “Technically yes,” Ariella responded firmly. Shawn grabs his chest, coughing out loud and intense. “What's wrong Shawn?” Ariella asked. Shawn, fell to the ground dizzy, gasping for breath, “Wa, wat…..water, water, I need water” Ariella rushed to get water; here it is, Shawn, has some. “Shawn, Shawn ….Shawn, Shawn wake up, Shawn!!!,” Ariella shouted.
