THE TRIP PASSED IN a blur for Maggie and although it was a very short time later that she was at the hospital information desk asking for Nick Wentworth, it did not seem fast enough for her. She was shown to a waiting room outside the operating rooms and was told that the surgeon would be out to see her when he had completed operating on Nick.
Maggie was used to being on the other side of the hustle that occurred in the hospital, and it would have been much easier to be working instead of waiting. A younger couple who were in the waiting room were relieved when their surgeon came out and told them that their young son’s appendectomy had gone very well and they could see their son when he was out of the recovery room. He hugged his wife as she cried and they left the room.
