JOEY RETURNED FROM the bar with a beer for Nick in time to see the beautiful blonde turn on her heel and walk away from something Nick had said to her. As Joey handed Nick the beer, he said “nice teamwork, the two of you saved that guy’s life. What did you say to piss off the blonde?”
Nick shrugged his shoulders and answered, “I don’t know what set her off, I asked her how she knew me and she said she didn’t know me. You know how some of those groupies are. They’ve seen me in the society pages and decide to get to know me. I’m a little leery about women these days.”
Joey took a big drink of his beer before saying to Nick,” She wasn’t coming on to you, she yelled for your help because a guy was choking and you were the closest person around except for his family who stood there in shock.
