OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS Nick and Maggie bonded as they learned more about each other. They spent a great deal of their time in bed talking and exploring one another while making the most of their time alone. The rest of their weekend was spent taking care of the necessary chores on the acreage and unpacking.
Monday morning and work came all too soon. Nick started every morning with a run while Maggie made breakfast for both of them. They left for work on their first day by 7:30 a.m., and quickly travelled the twenty minutes to town. Nick dropped Maggie off at the Doctor’s office and continued on to the police station.
The two Doctors were a married couple that owned the clinic. Their names were Gina and Edward they said, no formality for them. They were open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday
