My heart hammered so hard I thought it would tear out of my chest. How could Hades ask me to face them so soon? I wasn’t ready. I didn’t want to see any of them.
Still, when I looked at him, at the way his eyes held only me in them, almost pleading with me, I couldn’t say no. Just how could I refuse him?
