A few weeks passed since Sam had told her mother and Ms. Hamm her secret. She was mostly able to ignore him when her nemesis John would antagonize her now that Ms. Kean was no longer principal. He felt he could get away with calling her names whenever he wanted and he always knew how to push her just enough but not too much to push her to a physical altercation. He knew she wouldn’t complain to teachers about his verbal harassment.
