Chapter 5
A couple of weeks into school, Sam discovered that there was a small room at the back of the lunchroom where they sold assorted snacks and candy, so she decided to see what all they sold. As she walked towards the room, she noticed a few students being what she considered abusive to another student. Initially she thought to herself that she should walk past and stay out of it but unfortunately, that was a short-lived idea as she veered over to the group of students. When she arrived at the group, she firmly insisted, “Why don’t you leave him alone?” She didn’t direct the statement at any one person but the entire group of students turned their attention to her. A few of them questioned who was this unknown diminutive girl making demands.
