Chapter SevenWhat a complete turd of a day. The whole weekend actually. I've stared at my screen without interruption throughout. Not even a meal break. This client might just become the death of me, especially since Akhil has run off to Canada without warning, and left me in this mess all by myself. It's hard to swallow my resentment at his betrayal. I sit back, rubbing my eyes which have started to burn. No doubt I'll work late into the night again, best to take a break now and recharge. Perhaps I should've said 'no' on Friday. Of course I couldn't know that I'd be stranded handling this s**t storm on my own, but still. My instincts were telling me to run, and I should've listened!
