Chapter EightThe week flew by. Long nights, early mornings, CV after CV finding its way into my inbox, and out again after being discarded. I should've known: Akhil is irreplaceable. It took until Wednesday to realize that this project truly would land in my lap alone, and so I put my recruitment drive on the back burner in favor of pouring more blood, sweat and tears into Nightmare Client's proposal. It's been a steep learning curve, talking directly to the freelancers, all of whom seem to relish giving me vague answers no matter what question I send their way. Last night the resulting proposal passed my final check and off it went, just in time for me to be able to enjoy my weekend with a full night's rest and no outstanding work on my To Do list come Saturday morning.
