Chapter 8 - Accidentally Falling... or Whatever

364 Words
It all started with a pencil. Yes, a pencil. Not a love song. Not a dramatic hallway kiss. Just a chewed-up, barely-functioning pencil that launched the weirdest, most awkward moment of my life. I was leaning over to grab it from the floor in English class when I accidentally headbutted someone. Correction: I headbutted him. “Mmph!” he grunted as our foreheads collided. I jerked back so fast I nearly flipped out of my chair. “OH MY GOD—I’m so sorry!” He rubbed his forehead, laughing. “Wow. I usually have to pay for forehead-to-forehead intimacy like that.” I blinked. “Wait. What?” He grinned. That same grin that made my stomach do cartwheels. No. Freaking. Way. Him? This guy? No need for a concussion.” I peeked at him through my fingers. “You’re lucky you’re cute.” “So I am cute, huh?” I gave him a look. “Shut up.” He winked again. “See you after class, Sky.” And just like that, he walked back to his desk—leaving me stunned, flustered, and possibly in love with the boy I’d accidentally headbutted
