“Miss Pretakis, it's a live streamed ceremony and our viewers would appreciate it if you show up,” the producer of the Variety show said after I had given him multiple reasons why I didn't want to attend.
After the whole scandal during the shooting of the show, I wanted to stay away from the spotlight.
“But…” I started but he cut me off.
“Please, I really need you to attend. You can choose to leave after making an appearance for a few minutes,” he continued. “And if you are worried about not being able to get ready on such a short notice, I already have everything prepared for you here.”
I sighed as I threw my head back. At this rate, it would be hard to tell him no.
“I'll think about it and let you know.” I hung up as I packed my bags to go home.
