MADDOX TURNED TO FACE Cherry, her face a picture of surprise and embarrassment. Then her expression shifted to a smirk.
Aubriot grinned sheepishly. “Well, this is awkward.”
Cherry took a step backward in shock.
The door slid closed.
She staggered away down the passageway, numb and confused, not sure where she was going.
She didn’t know what to think. She’d always known about Aubriot’s womanizing. There had been a time when he was at a low ebb that she’d wondered if he was planning on sleeping with every available woman in the colony.
But she’d thought those days were over. They’d never discussed it, but she’d thought they were exclusive, a couple.
