“Good morning, Aaloo! Time to wake up… time for school,” Baba said softly. Aaloo slowly opened her sleepy eyes and looked at her father. She yawned—and then it hit her. Her name. Again.
“I hate it! I hate it! I hate it!” she cried as tears filled her eyes. “I hate my name, Baba!” With a stubborn little huff, Aaloo pulled the blanket over her head, building a small blanket-fort she didn’t plan to leave anytime soon.
Baba sat gently on the edge of the bed. “Now, now, Aaloo… it’s a beautiful day,” he said warmly. “The sun is shining, and the world is full of new possibilities. Don’t you want to go to school, play with your friends, and learn something wonderful today?” But Aaloo stayed hidden.
