Chapter Nine

Adabell's POV

After what Garrett asked me I was angry and hurt he didn't mean any harm but still it stung.

I walk into the house and he silently follows me watching everything I do. I make us a little something to eat cause let's face it we trained from 5 am till 5 PM then he sat there and watched me train for another 3 hours. So it's 8 pm and I know he must be hungry and I am too.

I make something simple but really good, I chop the vegetables and throw them in the frying pan. Then i grab chicken and dice it up and added it to the vegetables. I add some spices to give it flavor then make a homemade sauce add it to the mix. Once that is almost done cooking I make rice then add it to the pan.

He's a pretty big man so I know he is gonna eat a lot so I make a lot. Once it is done I grab two plates and make sure to put plenty on his plate then I add some to mine. I set the plates on the counter in front of him where he sits on a bar stool then I go to the fridge and grab two beers. The whole time his eyes are on me I can feel them once I get my beer I sit down beside him.

"Eat!" I order so he does we silently eat our meal a side from the slight moans I hear come from Garrett there is no other noise. Once his plate is empty and mine is pretty much gone I bring the plates to the sink and wash them. By now it's 9 pm.

"That was really amazing thank you!" Garrett says.

I nod my head while he watches me clean up my mess. Once everything is all done he knows that he should retire to bed for the night. He mumbles his goodnight to me I whispered mine back.

I go up to my room and grab my stuff to have a shower before I sleep. Once I'm done all that I climb into bed and let sleep come to me.

I'm standing in the woods waiting well the wind blows my hair to one side. Then there he is Zander standing in front of me I smile brightly and go to step forward but then Garrett appears.

I'm confused not sure what to do if I walk to Zander then I will be with him again. I can feel his touch again smell him again.

All of a sudden Zander screams out in pain and drops to his knees. "NO!" I scream and he goes up in flames.

I jolt up in my bed my heart beating fast. I didn't know I fell asleep I look at my clock which reads 11 pm. I can't calm my heart beat but then I hear the whisper, "go to him!"

It was Zander's voice it was his way of telling me it was okay to move on. I know the only way I will be able to get back to sleep is if I go to him.

I stand then turn to black smoke and appear beside his bed.

As if he can sense me he wakes up, "Adabell?" He asks confused.

I climb in beside him, "shhhhh go back to sleep" I say.

He wraps his arms around me and puts his nose in my neck inhales deep then goes back to sleep. It was easy for me to fall asleep into a dreamless sleep once I was in his arms.

I woke to the sun shining in my eyes I stretch a little not being able to move much.

That's the first time I have slept so well since Zander's death I look over my shoulder and smile.

Once I look over at the clock on the nightstand I frown oh no it's 9 am we are late. I roll in Garrett's arms and poke his shoulder lightly.

"Get up." I poke him again.

He groans and tightens his hold, "a little while longer." he mumbles sleepily.

I smile I wish it was that easy. "No get up we are late!"

I try once more, but he says, "king's and queen's are never late everyone is always early!"

"Nuh uh.... big guy we are late its 9 am training was supposed to start at 5am and then we were supposed to meet your pack." I tell him still no budging, "okay mister if you don't get up right this instant you won't get my surprise later!"

That did it he opened his eyes pur on a goofy grin, "surprise?" He asks curiously.

I nod once he jumps out of bed and says, "okay I'm up let's go eat first!"

"You have 5 minutes to shove what ever food in your mouth and then to be in the training yard."

He looks at me stunned for a second grumbles then grabs hold of my hand and starts walking me out the bedroom door.

I mind link everyone, 'training yard 10 minutes.'

"hey man was gonna wake up this morning, but when we walked in you weren't alone!" Julian says with a big grin.

I took my eyes, "5 minutes boys."

They all groan and start getting ready.
