The First Meeting

This isn't the romantic story you were probably hoping for. My life is and never will be perfect, I assumed it was going to play out a certain way but it ended up being nothing like I dreamed. From the moment I was born I was different, I never had many friends and I could always sense when someone around me was evil. I was relatively happy, I had a path, albeit an unconventional one and then I met a boy and my life changed, for the better and the worse. This is my story, my messy, life changing and never ending story; I mean what do I expect, I am immortal.    But if you're going to understand me and my story then we need to go back to the beginning. Back to when I first met him; 79 years ago in Moscow Russia.    19th December 1941 - Moscow   I've been on this Earth for 128 years and counting. 21 of those as a human and the rest as an immortal vampire-hunter. That's what brought me to Moscow, there is something about bloodshed and war that attracts vampires. It's also important to note how many SS Commanders and soldiers working under Hitler are vampires, not really surprising though right. In fact I just staked one, he was feeding on a Russian girl and didn't see me coming. After 107 years of doing this job I've gotten pretty good at it, as you can expect. I wasn't always immortal though, I was a very normal girl, born in London England to a middle class family. My parent's moved from Romania to England when they first married, something about wanting a better life for their children.    I'm sure they never realised that it would completely alter the course of my life. Maybe if we still lived in Romania I wouldn't be all alone in a world where nobody knows what I do. I would still have my family and would still be human, I could fall in love and die of old age. Instead I was born in England and lived 21 happy and normal years on this Earth. Now I'm a vampire that is destined to hunt other vampires to the ends of the Earth. How I became a vampire is pretty simple, one fed off me and then made me drinks it's blood. How I became a hunter, that's more complicated.    My great ancestors reach all the way back to the first, where there were vampires, there were vampire hunters. Immortal vampires that killed their own kind. Instilled with the power of good and able to detect evil with a sniff of the air. We are stronger than our evil siblings and don't crave human blood. In fact I only need to drink blood occasionally to survive, human food normally does the trick. Since my ancestors before me were all hunters, the gene was in my DNA, as soon as I fed I changed.    I can hear, see and smell better than anything on this Earth and I'm destined to live out my days hunting my kind and cleansing the Earth. 'I'm a real treat' I think to myself while rolling my eyes.    After staking the last vampire I'm feeling a little drained so I decide to go for a stroll, while doing so I've somehow ended up down a dark alley. 'Great' I think, this is just what I need to get lost down some dark, creepy Russian alley. While contemplating my next move, I hear a rustle behind me. Turning quickly I place a hand on the stake at my hip and wait. Suddenly out of the darkness two beautiful blonde women emerge and right away I know they're vampires.    "Look River, we found her" the one with bright red eyes smirks.    "Aren't they supposed to sense us or something Ember" the one with bright purple eyes responds to her sister. Ember laughs and steps forward again, eyes drifting to the hand on my stake.    "Maybe she's a dud Riv" she laughs again, "look at her all ready with her stake". The one called Ember rushes forward and grabs my hands before I can move. God the last staking really took a lot out of me, I feel so weak and lethargic, and it's the worst time for it to be happening. I really need blood.   "Girls!" I hear a booming voice and look back in the shadows to see another pair of bright red eyes. A tall, slim man walks forwards with another woman at his side, who has the same colored eyes as the girl called River.     "Oh come on father, we found her" Ember whines at her dad, loosening her grip only a touch.    "Emery, the vampire hunter. You've killed a lot of our friends lately." The man sneers.    "How terrible" I sneer back. God why do I have to have such a mouth, can't I just shut up!   "Yes, terrible for them and now terrible for you. Can't have you running about killing our friends, or us." He gives me a small smile and then touches Ember gently on the back, signaling for her to let me go. She releases her grip, yet he makes no move to grab me. Odd, a slip of my hand and I could stake him, if I wasn't so weak right now.    "I can't wait to taste the blood of a hunter, it's been 200 years since my last taste." He licks his lips and moves closer, grabbing my face with his hand. An uneasy feeling overcomes me and I feel a sense of belonging before another voice joins the group.    "Father stop!" a man commands. I look over to where the other woman stands and see a pair of the most vibrant blue eyes I have ever seen. They glow bright like the others but they mesmerize me. The hand on my face tightens and I huff out a painful breath.    "NOW!" the man booms louder. His father turns to him and glares.    "Grey, you are not one to command me!" his father responds. His hand has eased a touch but the feeling of joy and belonging continues to grow. What an odd sensation to have at a time like this.    "No she is my sun" he pleads to his father while looking me directly in the eye. I feel a warmth and belonging with him, no no! I need to snap out of this or I'm dead.
