BEAM OF LIGHT

“ Wait ! ! !  ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Do you see that light in the forest?” asked Bali. Shukra stood up and looked carefully toward the forest. There was a beam of light coming out of the forest. “It’s really interesting to see such a source of light coming from the forest.” said Shukra and started rubbing his eyes in order to reconfirm that the beam is real and not a hallucination. The intensity of the beam was alternatively increasing and decreasing. 

“Should we go and check?” asked Shukra with his mouth open from amazement and his eyes continuously looking at the beam. 

“Hell, no. I have already been trapped once into a well and luck does not work every time.” Bali was terrified by the Shukra’s thought of going inside the forest. 

“Why had Mantra Acharya just taken my test? Why not of others? ” Asked Shukra.

“I think it was a test for all but the rest of them could not complete it or left it in between and ran away. " said Bali while trying to think of more reasons for it.

“But, why were you not given a chance to save anyone? Why only me? ” Shukra had lots of questions running in his mind and was again getting restless. 

“Maybe because we both had equal opportunity to use the spell. if I would have used the correct spells with full concentration of my mind, there might be possibilities that I could have come out on my own.” said Bali. Still confused about the authenticity of his answers because after all, they are just the predictions. Suddenly Shukra moved from his position and started moving towards the exit of the hut. Bali also followed him. Bali was continuously trying to stop Shukra but he was not able to control him. He was getting attracted towards the beam of light like a small magnet is attracted towards a bigger magnet. Bali asked for help from other students but they didn’t take him seriously. Finally, Bali approached Brihaspati and asked for his help. Brihaspati told in an egoistic tone “he must have thought of doing something different. He is an attention seeker. Why do you always live with him? Be my friend and you will get lots of benefits and learnings. ” 

“Are you even realizing what I am saying? Shukra is slowly moving towards the wild and he is not listening to anyone. there can be a treat to his life and you are talking rubbish about your friendship and enmity. Are you mad or what?” Bali said in anger.

 Brihaspati stood up from his place and shouted at Bali with his hand on his waist “How dare you? No one has talked with me in this tone. Not even Acharyas and mind your tongue, you are calling the son of angarishi as a ‘mad person’ ”

Bali bowed his head in front of Brihaspati and said in a sarcastic tone “please forgive me, my lord. Forgive me for all my sins and I will punish myself throughout my life about the sin that I had just committed.”

“What sin did you commit?” Brihaspati asked in a confusing tone.

Bali leaned forward. Looked into the eyes of the Brihaspati and said: “To ask for help from you.” 

Brihaspati again got into anger and was about to say something “”you . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . you . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .” but before he could complete his sentence, bali went out of the hut to search for Shukra.
