“What the f**k was that all about?” Nico asked as he walked through my office door. My heart was beating out of my chest from the dispute I just had with Amelia. I knew that if she heard the conversation with Elena that she would go nuts. Elena has a lot of experience when it comes to Ezio and she worked with him for quite a long time. She had a bit of a soft spot for me and if I was going to get anything out of her then I had to make her think that the feeling was mutual.
“She overheard me talking to Elena” I groaned with frustration. Nico bit his lip and raised his brows.
“Oh...” he said emphatically.
“Yep, so now she’s pissed off because she thinks I’m f*****g around behind her back” I let slip. Nico flashed me an interrogating look and I already knew what he was asking.
