CHAPTER 21 MIRIAMOrange and violet streaked along the horizon of the dawn sky as the sun rose, turning the ocean silvery. The pink sand sparkled in the morning light. Miriam cradled her mug of steaming tea as the sun’s rays chased away the lingering chill in the air. The cool breeze stirred up the edge of the blanket she sat on. This was exactly what she wanted to do that one summer in school, but this was so much better than living out of a van. For the last week, they camped on the beach.
