Freya POV
Somewhere in a faraway land, a body flinched.
I glanced around me, wondering what land I was in. There were many bodies on the floor next to me, and I was the only one alive.
There were goosebumps on my skin—fear came alive on my countenance and I wandered away from the bodies, thoughts of what to do coming alive in my head.
Wait.
The last time I checked, I was alive and in The TimberWolf Pack, being compelled to have s*x against my wish.
“Wait!”
How did I get here?
Oh. It struck me.
I must have lost consciousness after that fall and the guards were asked to dispose of my body with thoughts that I am dead.
Well—I was not dead as I can see.
—and from the look of things, I am free from the grip of Alpha Ragnulf, the wicked beast who tried to make me do what I shouldn't.
Suddenly, while I thought—something made a sound.
I glanced to my right and there was a river I didn't see when I woke up.
Whatever the case may be, I was more than thirsty so I made for the spot, rushing without stopping until I arrived at the bridge.
Suddenly, my face flashed before me.
A loud cry escaped my mouth at the sight of my face in the water which represented a mirror.
Who am I?
I looked at my skin, inhaling and exhaling abnormally while I solved maths that didn't exist.
Now I get it!
The people I woke up next to, are dead people. The body that sheltered me was one of them before her death.
Must I be unfortunate all the time?
I looked around me. The atmosphere had changed, and the bodies I had seen the moment I woke up were nowhere to be found.
My goodness.
Where do I go from here?
What happened to the body I own, normally? Where was it and how is this even possible?
While I thought aloud, there was a loud sound.
The kind I never have heard since all my years as a human and Werewolf.
I looked around me, watching clouds come forth. There was anxiety written all over my face, and my hands fluttered.
“Who are you?” I screamed.
“Show yourself to me already!”
The voice sounded. “Freya—”
It was a woman.
Her voice was sweet and feminine. There was no scenery of her but she seemed to be right where I was standing.
Who is she?
The moon goddess—?
Hell no!
Only specified people have access to the goddess and the last time I inspected, I didn't have such advantages to speak with her.
“It is I—” she sounded. “—the moon goddess.”
“Mother—!” I yelped, excited and scared at the same time. “What do I owe for this visit?”
“You owe me nothing, my child,” she chimed. “Drink some water. You need strength for the journey ahead of you.”
Without hesitation, I surged back to the riverside and gulped down more than enough water. After a while, I walked back to the spot.
“You have been rebirthed,” she started. “This is your new possession, in the meantime until your mission is over.”
“W—what mission?”
I could feel her change positions from the east to the west. “Your new name will be Thora. Your mission is to reciprocate to the pack you died in and kill the Alpha of The TimberWolf Pack. He has violated my rules too much.”
“What!” I yelled. “How can I go back to—to that man, mother? He almost r***d me!”
“It'll be different this time, Thora,” she called me by my new name. “You will not serve as a s*x slave this time around. I can control his mind and judgement.”
“Mother—” Although I was making an effort to believe her, I couldn't. “I died in the hands of that man, and woke up in this.”
“It is but for the meantime, Thora,” she explained. “You will not do this all by yourself, after all.”
Who was I going to do it with?
Now I gazed around me, in search of another dead body that came alive. “Who will assist me with this task, mother?”
“Your destined mate is somewhere in the pack,” she expressed. “You shall come upon him and when you do, it'd be effortless to dive into the issue.”
I felt strength inside of me, suddenly.
I mean, the moon goddess has assured me that I would not be his s*x slave. Since I wasn't going to be ravished against my wish, there was no other act I was scared of.
“How do I get back into the pack?”
“Ragnulf has ordered his men to search for more females,” she explained. “I will be with you until you arrive at the spot where you will be caught and taken with them.”
“Are there any rules?”
According to the history of an encounter with the moon goddess, there are rules to live by. When broken, the spirit of the wolf is misplaced in the land of no rescue—forever.
“Yes, definitely,” she sounded, cutting into my thoughts. “There are rules to abide by when you get into the pack.”
“What will they be, mother?”
“Your body must be kept secure until the last day of existence in your new body,” she let out. “It must not be misplaced, burnt or taken away else you will be stranded in the land of no return when your mission is over.”
I panicked at this moment.
How was I supposed to know where my body was? How was I supposed to keep my body safe when I knew I didn't have access to any room or place in the pack?
I looked around me and shook my head.
Indeed, it was a difficult task and the notion of how it would culminate is something I couldn't comprehend.
“Where is my body?”
“In a room. Amongst many others. The Alpha stores them in there. It must not be lost if you don't want to die forever whenever your mission is over.”
“How am I supposed to fight the Alpha with no strength in me?”
“The last time I checked, I am an ineffective Omega wolf who rarely communicates with the creature that lives in me.”
“Inside of you, there is a second-tier wolf,” I was shocked to my bone marrow. “It is yours in the meantime and maybe forever, depending on how satisfied I am with what you would do.”
“Thank you, mother.”
“Drink some more water,” she instructed. “There is not much time. I want the Alpha out of the face of the earth as soon as possible. My people have been molested enough.”
I rushed to the riverside and gulped down water to my satisfaction. My legs ushered me back to the spot where I was placed, and when I looked back again—the river was taken off its spot.
Daytime came back and the bodies that disappeared moments ago returned to their positions.
I was also shocked at myself when I did not scream—it was obvious that I had become used to this lifestyle.
In a while, the wolf the moon goddess talked about, came alive inside of me.
I felt it leap. once—twice, while I walked on a path that was created, finding my way out of the lonely and deserted area.
The moon goddess spoke while I walked, with a smile plastered on my face. “The path you are going on would usher you into the hands of the men that would take you with them.”
I walked, then ran at the realization of how free I had become—all of a sudden.
