My pocket buzzed.
I froze, peeked up at my two prison guards. They appeared to be engaging in more of their silent buzz talking and paid me no attention.
As discreetly as possible, I pulled my cell phone out of my pocket and onto my lap. My bent knees would hide it from the aliens, and I was more than capable of sending a text with one hand.
My message indicator said I had one text. It was from Maxus.
Maxus – I am here.
My entire body shivered in relief. Once it started, I couldn’t stop shaking.
