Spencer's P.O.V

"Ma, tell Sebastian to give me my phone. I'm in the middle of a call with Selena." I say running downstairs. Sebastian and I call My mom Shane Mamma and My my Alicia Ma so we don't get them confused.

"Sebastian, Give your sister the phone" Ma yells back from the kitchen. "Come on guys get ready for school, if you two don't get your asses out the door in 5 minutes then your gonna have Mama on your hands and none of you want that."

"She's right" Mama said walking out of he kitchen kissing our foreheads. "And Spencer, don't let your brother bully you." she said grabbing my phone out of Sebastian's hand and handing it back to me "Now, get your breakfast and get to school."

"Love you two Mama" Sebastian said with sarcasm. We grabbed our breakfast and headed outside to the car. "Hey Spence, your gonna have to get a ride from Ma or Mama because I promised Jamie I would give her a ride and you know how those go."

"Ugh I can't. They have to go to a meeting in another pack." I said "I'll just leave before you guys do whatever you guys do"

"Fine, hop in." he said.

We arrived at school and I left right when we parked and walked inside to my usual locker. As I searched for my chemistry book I heard Selena trying to creep on me. I ignored her 'boo' and continued looking through my locker. "Really, not even a flinch?" she asked sounding defeated.

"Nope, you do this every morning. Think of something that's more effective" I said in return "Do you by any chance know where my chemistry book is?" I ask

"Is this what your looking for?" I heard an unfamiliar voice say. I  turned around and saw an attractive man holding my chemistry book

"Y-yeah. Thank you" I say "Who are you?"

"Kevin Berry. Son of Alpha River Berry." he says "You must be Spencer Anderson."

I heard Selena scoff behind me so I turn around for a second then turn back. "Um, Were gonna be late for class." I shut my locker, grab Selena and walk towards chemistry "Why is he here?"

"You didn't hear?" she asked and I shook my head "The Midnight pack's soon to be alpha burned down there school. All the students got transferred here out of the Alpha's choice."

"But why here?" I ask

"I don't know. But Spencer, you have to stay away from him. He's nothing but trouble." she said looking into my eyes. No one ever dared to look at me since my boyfriend was The Joshua Abe . He will literally kill anyone who breathes in my direction. To be honest with you...He's abusive. 

"Selena, nothing is worse than Joshua." I say gripping my arm.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Selena asked urgently "Spencer. Give me your arm." 

I handed her my arm with tears and she pushed up my sleeve and her eyes widened in horror "He said if I told anyone or broke up with him, he would slit my throat in the middle of he night. I never sleep, Selena." I state.

"Spencer?" I heard a man say and turn around. It was Sebastian "What's on your arms? Are those bruises?" I broke down in tears as he pulled me into his arms. "Was this Joshua?" he asked as I nodded.

"He beats and r***s me every time we hang out." I say through tears "I'm thankful he hasn't forcefully marked me."

I heard a menacing growl that made me jump out of Sebastian's arms. I looked in the direction of the growl and saw Joshua walking towards me. When he got close enough he grabbed my arm with the bruises and whispered "You weren't supposed to tell anyone. Time for your punishment." 

He took his free and and raised it. Before anyone could stop him he brought it down to my face and slapped me harder than he ever has before. I fell to the ground and scooted backwards as Sebastian and Selena jumped on Joshua before he could get to me again and Sebastian's girlfriend, Jamie ran over to me helping me up.

I looked over to the scene that was going on and saw Joshua's decapitated head on the floor. I couldn't believe the site in front of me and threw up all over the floor. "NO!" I screamed running and picking up Josh's head "YOU KILLED HIM." I started crying harder

"What? Spencer, what are you talking about?" Jamie asked kneeling next to me putting a hand on my shoulder.

"He was my mate and you killed him. How could you do this?" I ask standing up facing brother and best friend. "He was my mate." I repeated

"Spencer, put the head down and come with me to the nurse." Sebastian said walking closer to me holding out his hands.

"No." I said walking backwards until I hit the wall. "You did this. He's dead." I slid down the wall clutching onto Joshua's decapitated head. I cried harder and then a figure came in front of me

"Spencer. Listen to your brother." the figure said. I couldn't make out who it was because of the tears and the shock I was in. the figure wiped my tears away and I saw Kevin. "He beat and r***d you right? Then forget him and move on. I'm sure there is another...mate out there fore you" he said the last part in a whisper.

Kevin stood up and grabbed my hand. I tossed Josh's head to the side and stood next to Kevin staring into his eyes as his lips curved into a smile. "What do you want from me?" I asked as Jamie pulled me towards the direction of the nurse.
