Cory
“You don’t have to be nervous. I’m here not going to hurt you.” I could tell she was nervous getting into the suv.
“I don’t want to go back, I’m only doing this for Luke. I don’t see why I would get a second chance mate. That doesn’t make sense. Omegas don’t get second chances.” She was stuck on that.
I had read her file before heading over to talk to her. We have no idea who her parents are. Just that she was found along the perimeter of the pack boarder, and she was covered in blood. We assumed her parents are rogues that had been killed. That’s what she was told when she was 4. All we could get out of her was her age and birthday. She had no recollection of what happened that day or where she came from.
“Well we will see what happens. All I know is you’re my mate, and I’ll do whatever I can to protect you and keep you and Luke safe.” She stayed silent the entire drive back.
As soon as we arrived at my house I could visibly tell how nervous she was. She was on edge. I parked the suv in the driveway, turning it off, and getting out to open her door for her. I make it all the way to her side and she slings the door open and starts to slide out.
“I can get it myself.” Luke opened his door and hopped out as well. Shooting me a small look of apology.
“Ok, come on in and you can pick out which rooms you want.” I turn and head towards the front door. Opening it and stepping back so they can enter. It wasn’t a huge house by any stretch of the imagination, but it did have four large bedrooms for them to choose from. Luke was the first one in. “Up the stairs, pick any of them you’d like.” I could her his footsteps thudding on the stairs as Kat entered, not nearly as enthused.
“Holy cow these are huge.” Luke screamed with giddiness upstairs, his foot steps going from room to room. “Kat, they all got their own bathrooms! We don’t even gotta share!” She made her way up the stairs slowly.
“Well pick one out and I’ll take one right beside it.”
I stayed at the bottom of the stairs as to not pressure them. Content on just having her scent filling my home, making it a house. Daydreaming of all the memories that my new family will make here. Filling my heart with pride and joy, and excitement. I want to see how she will grow as a person, and watch her meet her wolf for the first time. I want to help her fulfill her life’s dreams and goals. I want to have pups with her, watching her belly swell each time we expand our little family.
“This is it! This is the one I choose! Which one are you gonna get Kat?” My thoughts interrupted by Lukes excited tone. I finally ease my way up the stairs.
All of the rooms matched in tones of greys and whites, only a few bits of furniture separating them from being identical. Each had queen size beds, walk in closets, a large dresser with equally as large of a mirror, and an attached bathroom. Luke has chose the one furthest from the stair case down the hall on the right. Leaving the three other bedrooms for Kat to choose from. She walked to the one across the hall from Luke’s.
“I guess that means this is me then.” She stepped inside. I could hear her heart racing as she explored the room. I let out a cough in the hall way so she would realize where I’m at.
“So I guess it is decided then. Is there anything you need right away? The bathrooms should be stocked, but if there is anything you want I’ll be happy to get it for you, or have it delivered.” Luke pops out of the room.
“Can we get my stuff now instead of later?” His excitement never faltering.
“Sure kid. Kat would you like to come along with us? If not you’re more than welcome to stay here and get comfortable.”
“I’ll stay.” She mumbles barely loud enough I can hear her.
“Ok, well, there is food in the fridge if you get hungry, help yourself. Or if you want I can get something from the chow hall on the way back if you don’t want to mess with that.” I can hear her pulling hangers out of the closet and starting to put away her things.
“I’ll see what’s here if I get hungry.” She lets out a small sigh. “Cory.” She takes a deep breath. “Thank you.” Hearing her say my name for the first time brings back that fluttery feeling in my stomach.
“Thank you for giving me a chance Kat.” I motion for Luke to follow me. “Come on kid, lets go get your stuff.”
With all of his excitement Luke runs past me clearing the stairs in just a few steps and is back out the door. I hear the door of my suv open and close by the time I get to the bottom of them. Hitting the button to start up the vehicle I can’t help but keep this s**t eating grin on my face as I close the door knowing my mate is finally home.
Kat
I couldn’t help but let out a small sigh of relief as I heard the door close behind them as they left. Probably not the emotion I should have, but its been a whirlwind of emotions today. My heart literally broken in two, the decision to leave and not knowing of where I wanted to go, finally deciding where I wanted to go, finding out I have a second chance mate, and finally coming back to this place. That’s a lot to take in, and it hasn’t even been twenty four hours.
They won’t be gone for long, so I decide to stop putting my things away and explore while I have the house to myself. Beta Cory’s scent permeates from everything in the house, giving me a slight sense of peace. I make my way through the rest of the bedrooms upstairs familiarizing myself with the layout. He clearly hasn’t had any guests anytime recently. I make my way down stairs not noticing I’m following his delicious smell right to his bedroom door. I start to wonder what my mate is like.
I ease my way into it, letting curiosity get the best of me. It matches the grey theme with the rest of the house. The neatly made bed called to me, pulling me into it with its alluring cushions and that smell that’s driving me closer. I lay down on it and sniff the pillows, hugging one close to me. This is the most peace I’ve had today. I lay there content in smelling my mate as I drift off to sleep.

Starring out of my window I see my Beta’s suv pull out of his driveway and leave. It was only him and a boy that got into it, so I guess he struck out of finder her. Pain still racking throughout my body, I decide to go to the chow hall and try to get something to eat. I missed breakfast after all because of that stupid omega. How could the moon goddess be so foolish as to try and mate me with someone so weak. Thoughts replaying in my head of when she spoke her name, makes me sick to stomach. How she looked at me before I realized what she was fills me with rage. I could see the hope that she was actually going to be accepted. Pathetic girl. Someone so far beneath me will never be my Luna.
I grab my head to try and ease some of the pain from the constant headache I’ve had since rejecting her. Sliding my chair back, and looking around at all the things I’ve destroyed because of that stupid girl. Days of work scattered across the floor, that I would have to do over again. I sigh and get up and make my way out of the office. Gaining some speculative looks on my way out.
The sunlight blinds me as soon as I step out, making my head pound even worse. I make my way towards hopefully some sort of relief. A slight breeze hits me in the face, and it feels like I just ran straight into a brick wall. It’s her. I feel my wolf start to surface as I become enraged again. The wolf takes over and we follow the scent straight to the Beta’s front door. I guess he did find that tramp. My vision goes red and my wolf takes full control as I put my foot through the door. With speed only an Alpha has I follow the scent to the Beta’s bedroom. I hear the girls heart beating frantically as she try’s to scoot off the bed away from me.
“Well it didn’t take long for you to change your mind and come back I see.” My wolf growls out.
“Beta Cory brought me back, I didn’t want to come.” She whispered. She backed herself against the wall to get as far away from me as possible, glancing around, looking for an exit. She was going to run and my wolf was ready for the chase.
“You can’t be his.” The words coming out of my mouth barely sounded human. “If I can’t have you, no one will.” She let out a small scream and ran into the bathroom, slamming the door shut. My wolf left out a guttural laugh as he walked over to the door and ripped the handle out, shattering part of the door in half as I did it. She let out another scream.
“Please. Please, I don’t want to be Luna I’m no threat. I’m just an omega. I know my place.” I slowly made my way towards her, watching her shake uncontrollably.
“You’re not worthy of this pack and you have to die.” My wolf uses his speed and grabs her by the neck, lifting her up and slamming her into the wall. Plaster flying everywhere as she makes impact.
