Gwen's POV
I watched as days turned into weeks as I found myself becoming more comfortable in my new pack than I had even been! Though there was a little hesitation from me when I noticed how nice and caring the whole pack members were unlike in Stormfur pack where they were hostile and so condescending.
Alpha Blake had urged me to always come out of my room and explore my new surroundings and with his help, I had met new people, enjoyed myself and felt comfortable and relaxed.
I was happier than before, though I still had my strange dreams which I haven't told anyone, not even Alpha Blake but I hope one day I will be completely honest and courageous enough to drop all the burden I was bearing.
All the members of the pack, even though in higher levels all related well and they were unlike anyone I had ever met. Alpha Blake and his pack members were kind and genuinely caring towards me which stood in stark contrast to the cruelty I had to experience with Derek and in Stormfur pack.
I still remember all my experiences and shiver from the thought and the pain that comes with it. I know for a fact that they would all think I was dead because no one trespassed into Moonfang pack and lived to tell the tales.
There was a knock on my door which brought me out of my thoughts, I walked towards the door as the door opened to reveal Alpha Blake. He was here to make sure I was okay, always checking in on me.
“There is going to be a late breakfast today, the cook in charge, gave birth a few minutes ago and because of that I brought you some chocolate chips to munch on until someone fit the house a meal!” He explained with a warm smile as he walked into the room with a tray which had a bowl filled with chocolate chip cookies and a cup of orange juice.
“You didn't have to do that!” I cried out with a smile as I took the tray and dropped it on the coffee table by the corner. He often surprised me with little gestures like this that brightened my days and even after I had told him to stop numerous times, he never did.
“Thanks, Alpha Blake!” I replied with a smile after walking back to him.
“How are you enjoying the book I picked for you so far?” He asked, pointing at the book laying on the couch at the corner.
“It is quite funny and I love it!” I said to him as he chuckled.
“It is and that was why I gave it to you!” He uttered looking into my eyes. He once asked me if I could read and write because of my story and I explained to him about how I used to sneak up on pupils learning then practice at night or with some kids playing around where I worked.
So he decided to give me books and I will report what I learned after reading it and discuss any difficulty I had with the book, it had been helping me.
“I will leave now and have one of the maids call you when breakfast is ready! And don't forget our date in the afternoon!” He reminded me with a wink before walking out of the room. He gave me a small wave before turning into the hallway. My cheeks burned with a blush.
We often went out on dates, walking through the forest. We once had a picnic by the riverside and even visited some nearby towns. He was trying so hard to distract my mind from the nightmares I told him resulted from Derek and Stormfur pack’s treatment of me.
His presence had been a sort of balm to my wounded soul even though I was hesitant to accept all his kind gestures due to the heartbreak Derek had caused.
I was beginning to feel a warm sensation in my heart for Blake, I can't possibly deny the feelings I was growing for Blake, my wolf was way ahead of me and head over heels!
If I had allowed her to take full control, I wouldn't be able to control myself around Alpha Blake. I walked back to my corner and picked the book as I munched on the chocolate chip cookies Alpha Blake brought along.
In the afternoon which was quite Sunny, Alpha Blake had someone come call me out for our date. I made my hair and dressed up in a flowing gown then made my way to him. We decided on where to go this time around for our date. He asked me and we finally settled on visiting a nearby meadow that was renowned for its wildflowers.
We walked hand in hand against the soft rustling of the wind through the grass and the vibrant colors of flowers that created a serene and beautiful atmosphere. I could die and sleep for eternity here. Alpha Blake's hand against mine was gentle and warm, his warm smile chipped away at the walls I was always keeping up around my heart whenever I was with him.
“Let's settle over there!” Alpha Blake pointed out, he had packed a picnic and we just found a spot under a large oak tree to settle down. The tree has created a cozy and serene atmosphere.
“This place is beautiful and… incredible!” I said aloud as I looked around the sea of flowers surrounding us.
“I haven't seen anything like this before,” I admitted as I took my seat. Even in Stormfur pack, they don't have such a beautiful place, let alone the atmosphere.
“Yeah, it is and it happens to be my favorite place. This is where I come to if I need to think and relax! The atmosphere is calming and relaxing!” He said with a smile as his eyes twinkled with delight and excitement.
“I am glad you like it!” He said as he laid the basket on the blanket.
After a long while of eating, talking and taking in the beautiful and peaceful atmosphere, Alpha Blake reached out and gently took my hand into his.
“You are so beautiful, Gwen!” He stated, looking into my eyes.
“Thanks Alpha Blake!” I replied with a smile. I was a little bit shy.
“You can drop the title when we are alone! Just call me Blake!” He informed me.
“Really? You want me to call you Blake, Alpha Blake?” I asked him with widened eyes.
“Yes! How can I have my mate call me Alpha Blake when I would love to hear her call me by my name!” He addressed, still wearing the same smile.
“Okay if you say so… Blake!” I uttered, avoiding his gaze.
“That's beautiful and much better! Don't hesitate to call me that!” He urged me as he lifted my face to look at him. I nodded politely.
“Well, I have something important to tell you, Gwen!” He suddenly became serious and became attentive.
“What is that, Blake?” I asked him, looking at him with a look of curiosity and apprehension. Hopefully it's something I can deal with.
“I understand how you feel and what you have been through and I don't want to rush you with anything! But at this moment I can't ignore my growing feelings for you! You are incredibly important to me and I care about you deeply!” He explained with a serious expression yet it was tender.
My heart skipped a beat for a minute at the words spoken to me by Alpha Blake. “I am grateful, Blake and I care about you too!” I admitted with a whisper as my feelings couldn't let my voice go higher than that.
“Wow, I am glad to hear that and I want you to know you are and will always be safe with me. I will always protect you even if my life is on the line and will try all my best to make you happy and forget your past!” He promised with a warm smile that spread across his features.
My eyes welled up with tears as I felt a surge of emotion within me at his words. “Thank you so much Blake. You have no idea what words mean to me!” I uttered. A tear fell from my eyes, no one had ever promised me such words and this absolutely got to me.
“It's okay!” He said as he pulled me into his embrace. He gently wiped the tears that had dropped on my cheek which sent a shiver down my spine. I could melt in his touch.
We started packing up our picnic set up once the sun began to set which cast a golden glow over the meadow, giving it a more majestic and ethereal look. The age was cool and refreshing and I just wanted to dwell here for long.
“Gwen!” I heard Alpha Blake call me as I carried one of the baskets.
“Yes?” I uttered, turning to look at him slightly.
“I have one more thing to ask you and I hope I won't offend you with it!” He uttered with a serious expression once again.
“Okay… what is it?” I questioned with curiosity as my heart pounds at this possible question that might offend me.
“When can I mate you? When can I make you mine?” He asked, gazing into my eyes.
