Gwen's POV
I was ushered into a dimly lit room that cast a long shadow on the wooden walls. I was so tired and was barely keeping my eyes open but with the gentle pressure of Alpha's Blake's hand against my back, I could move forward at a steady pace.
His touch was careful yet firm as if he was afraid I would shatter, I was on the brink of doing that because of the pain I was going through.
“You don't have to worry about anything, Gwen, you are in safe hands!” He said to me as he helped me to the bed where I sat down with his help. The pain was becoming unbearable and I think he noticed because he immediately called one of the guards at the door.
“Call me Nora, tell her I need her service and it's very urgent!” He commanded as his voice echoed through the room, leaving no room for disobedience as his tone implied.
Minutes after, three omegas rushed in with a beautiful lady behind them, they came in with a variety of herbs, bandages, ointment, a black liquid in a transparent bottle and all the needed tools they were going to use.
I was laid on my back as they immediately got to work, tending to each of my wounds with practiced efficiency and care. Despite how it looked like they were in a haste to relieve me of my pain, their touches were soft and reassuring which with the effects of what they were using on me gave me a soothing sensation all over my body.
Though I winced once in a while whenever I felt a sting from the deep gashes on my legs and back, they cleaned all my wounds with antiseptic that was sharp against my skin.
I noticed Alpha Blake was by my side as I was treated, standing and staring at me in absolute silence, his presence made me feel comfortable yet intimidated. Once they were done, the omegas bowed and left while the beautiful lady that didn't say anything to me but looked upon me with so care and sympathy whispered something to Alpha Blake who kept staring at me. She bowed and also left the room, leaving the two of us alone.
I struggled as I sat up, the injuries at my back stinged badly and I was conscious of the bandage wrapped round my torso.
He walked towards me with concern helped me out of the bed and led me to a couch by the side where I sat and he sat beside me.
“Tell me what happened to you Gwen!” He demanded with his piercing blue eyes boring into mine.
I took a deep breath as I slightly bowed my head to avoid his gaze, I tried to steady my thoughts and voice as my mind raced back to what I had to go through before getting here.
“It all started when I felt the mate bond with Derek of Stormfur! I worked in the club at night and was instructed to serve Derek and his friends in the VIP lounge. I thought it was a blessing when I felt the bond but Derek didn't think the same as he looked at me with contempt. He asked me to entertain him and his friends by dancing then made advances to me when I went back to the room to change, I resisted his advances which got him angry and he rejected me instantly!” I explained as my voice started breaking.
“I can't believe him!” Alpha Blake uttered.
“It doesn't end there,” I continued, even though my voice was trembling. I wanted him to know all that happened to me as he was my second mate and deserved to know.
“He ordered his guards to take me to his place where I was tied up and… and… he forced himself on me and later turned himself in to the victim! I was on my way to the dungeon to serve punishment when I was opportune to run away and I did and saved myself by trespassing into your pack!” I explained amidst tears as he wrapped his arms and comforted me, it felt strange and nice at the same time.
His jaw tightened as his eyes became dark with restrained fury.
“Derek Cobbs!” He spat the name out with so much venom. “I should have known it's the work of the son of Alpha Roland! He will pay! They will pay for this that they have done to you! Every single one of them in that damned pack!” He breathed through anger which was simmering beneath the surface.
“Alpha Blake, please stay calm! Just stay calm, retaliating in anger won't help anyone! We just have to be calm so we don't give them a reason to start another war!” I pleaded as I slowly reached out to touch his arm with my hand.
“They need to answer for their actions, every one of them!” He stated as his eyes met mine.
“They have wronged you greatly and even if that was in the past, you are my mate now and their actions have stained my past. They have wronged me by extension!” He explained as his eyes held such intensity that made my heart raced.
“I understand you, Alpha Blake but I still plead that we should not be led by anger but be strategic even if we want them to answer to all the terrible things they did to me! I don't want anyone to lose their lives or property because of me! I am saved as you have already done that and I am glad and happy which is enough for me! Please!” I pleaded softly. The Stormfur wouldn't take it lightly if they knew I was the reason for any dispute with this pack.
“You are so kind hearted, Gwen and they shouldn't be given that grace! You shouldn't treat such people with such grace of being kind but I will take you at your word for now! The war has just begun!” He addressed before getting up on his feet.
