Chapter 23- Disappointed
"Lilian?"
King didn't plan for his voice to float out as an inaudible whisper nor did he intend to appear horrified by his sister's sight.
He swallowed down the food in his mouth like it was an unbearable lump stuck in his throat, wondering what in the world she was doing here.
Lillian stared back with equal apprehension, scowling down at him as though she had just caught him conducting an abominable act.
"What are you doing here?"
She folded her arms in front of her chest with defiance, pouting her pink stained lips and narrowing her doe-like eyes in perusal of him.
Her words sounded more grated than curious, like it hurt her to address him.
