"Happy birthday, Father," I wished him with a curt tone and inclined my head.
Iris did the same and smiled at him, but her eyes held fear and her body brimmed with anxiety. I wondered what made her so uncomfortable to want to stay away from my father.
I knew that he didn't have a good history of being warm to her, but she could at least pretend, except something else had happened in my absence.
"I hope you continue to live long for the pack," She spoke, quietly.
As expected he snubbed her but I did not comment as I didn't intend to stand all night behind him. Iris and I had a tutorial session and I couldn't wait for another lesson.
