Chapter Sixteen
Several weeks went by and there were some remarkable changes taking place that were as interesting as they were alarming to Juliet. On an almost daily basis, Joshua was entertaining gentlemen in his office, other seamen, mates and businessmen. It seemed there was some great plan brewing, but Joshua did nothing to fill her in on what it was about. Juliet could tell that he was excited about the prospects of some new venture. All the people and the flurry of activity, it had to be something monumental. Curious to know what was going on, she listening carefully one evening as she was in Joshua’s office serving several men some ale. To her amazement, she found out that Joshua had purchased a larger vessel, a brand new ship, that was just about ready for its maiden voyage.
