The hallway was still spinning in my head when Taylor pulled me into an empty classroom. The door clicked shut behind us, and the sudden quiet felt almost too loud. The muffled chatter from the hallway faded, replaced by the faint hum of the ceiling fan and the uneven rhythm of my breathing. He didn’t say a word.
