The narrow path smelled of drunkards and a series of other unholy activities, the notorious ally of Alfredo, Haldir had to hide his shiny hair under a thick long hood, a disguise. They might not know him but his silver hair would give him off considering that there is only one known for his kind of hair and that is non but him, himself.

Thanatos was very familiar with the ally they are walking in but the reason behind it remains a mystery, he just follows behind wondering why the sudden visit

Haldir had suddenly suggested they go see a seer.

They stood by a wretched door leading to a bar, Haldir inhaled deeply supressing the raging urge to throw a comment at the dirtyness and noise of the folks around, the door finally cracked open from the inside and ushered them in, unlike the outside the inside was unexpectedly clean, folks were around doing the nasty not minding the on lookers, on the stage of the bar stood a beautiful human girl singing from her soul a low and melodious song, she kept making eye contact with Haldir as if she was singing directly for him.

Her song was indeed enchanting, drawing every listener to her.

"She is interested in you," Thanatos said leaning in on the table as he averted his gaze to beckon at the bar attendant.

"Give us the most popular one on your list," Thanatos said

"No give him the most popular but serve me the least popular one," Haldir said flashing a half-baked smile at the man, the man looked at him in a ridiculous manner

"Are you trying to be different, the least popular is least for a reason sir" the man said giving him a side eye as he went ahead and mixed a bunch of things for Thanatos

"Just like the last time fresh," Thanatos said after gulping the drink, he smiled sweetly as he looked into his cup while Haldir keenly looked at him wondering when he became a wine lover

"Are you a regular here young sir?" the man said looking at Thanatos

"No am not," Thanatos said still smiling, the man passed a strange drink to Haldir eying him and waiting for him to take a sip.

"Like I expected the best," Haldir said with a smile and received a raised brow from both Thanatos and the man.

"That's a lie," said the man after savoring the drink he made "it's strong" he commented

"Yes exactly," Haldir said still sipping from the cup, he shifted his gaze to the maiden singing, he could tell that her singing was coming to an end.

"She is coming," Thanatos said smiling,

"Behave," Haldir said as a warning

"Greetings noblemen," she said with a smile, Haldir responded with a forced smile as he sipped on the drink

“I believe you know why we are here” Haldir went straight to the point avoiding her obvious flirt

“You might have gotten the wrong person,” she said pretending to be oblivious to his claims, she had turned restless immediately and already thinking of escaping. Thanatos smiled before he stood up and blocked her from escaping.

“Take us to your master, we do not have all day,” Thanatos said, “we know this is all a facade so there is no course for alarm just take us to whoever you call master,” Thanatos said as Haldir observed her closely, she was a witch not human, but under a disguise......

“Don't worry you with me nobody would ever approach you and if they do say you are human” Zephyr said as he helped Nimai tuck her hair behind.

“Don't worry am not scared, I trust you” she said with a smile, Zephyr had suggested they leave the castle, he was working on a task while she would work as his special aid.

“It's just like your kingdom, it's no different, the streets are full of humans mainly so be rest assured, be comfortable,” he said in lower tones

“I Don't know how the alleys of ARVERNINE looks like, I lived by the woods and was taken to the palace by a carriage so this is completely a new experience” she answered excitedly, the kind she have never felt before

“Careful the stones are sharp” he said holding her from tripping on her toes from sheer excitement

“How come, you can easily work under the sun, are you different from the rest of the vampires?” Nimai suddenly asked, Haldir had mentioned he need her help to be able to go outside and Zephyr just mentioned humans were the ones outside.

“What?” he asked confused, “yes am a little different but every other vampire can work under the sun” he clarified as Nimai pounded on whether she heard the wrong words, she could swear The devil mentioned needing her help with that.

“How are you a little different?” she asked catching on, to his words

“Yes am considered the special breed,” Zephyr said smiling

“I know you are special, but could there be a reason?”

“I have silver eyes, just like the master has silver hair, he is considered the reincarnation of a god”

“That's ridiculous”

“Yeah, my mother was a mixture of human and fairy,” Zephyr said casually as he opened the door leading to a bar.

“Does your task involve a bar?” Nimai said

“No, am here to collect information on every of the aid, even while I was in ARVERNINE, the bar was the easiest access to information” although it didn't make sense to Nimai she nodded and stood by his side.

“Sir Zephyr it's been a while” came the voice of the beautiful bar owner

“Yes, I came for an inquiry,” he said getting straight to the tasks at hand

“Oh concerning the aids, that was sent by the ministers,” the lady said

“How did you know that?” Zephyr asked, “ministers? They were sent by the ministers?” Zephyr asked confused, just like a new Duke has been assigned it was only right that a lot of offices were open and the duke was to fill them all in with new people who applied, so he was sent to do an assessment on their character only to hear they were sent by the ministers,

“There is no information I do not know about, remember they do most of their biding here” she said leading them to a sit “who is she? I have never seen her before, your beloved?” she rushed him with questions about Nimai

“She is a noble, and my aid” he answered shortly

“Oh yes, I knew she was noble, but I can't speak without knowing if she is to be trusted”

“Do not worry, I trust her more than I trust you” Zephyr said gaining a chuckle from the lady while Nimai ignored the fact they were talking about her as her eyes traveled around the surrounding watching how people openly make out, she was getting uncomfortable as the minutes grow, the stares she received weren't helping, she was dressed so differently from them, she had a white long hood over her while the rest of the maidens were dressed seductively including the one in front of them, ‘is this an inn for pressure’ she had found herself asking, this was the first time she was seeing something like this. She could tell the conversation Zephyr was having was important for him not to notice her discomfort, he was always keen to observation and body language.

“They do not like the silver-haired master of yours, they claim that he is a lonely soul who no one knows of his existence so they hate the idea of him ruling, but I think they are just jealous of him, especially Erebos,” the lady said relaxing

On her wooden chair, Zephyr went quiet, he was suddenly calculative.

“Why are you telling me this, you never tell more than you are asked, I haven't even asked a single question,” Zephyr said

“Let's not pretend my information is useless, there is no need to ask about the people you came for, they will only look for a way to dethrone your master”

Zephyr chuckled at the irony of the situation, it was obvious his master wasn't interested in ruling, all he wanted was to stay away from others in his castle and dine alone but he has been dragged into the affairs, Haldir hated the new system, “what was the need for a ruler” he would say sometimes, they claimed to be superior to humans but they kept adapting to the system created by humans, in the past power was only acquired by riches, you are only respected because of your riches and there was no title. The weaker ones just had to leave the stronger ones alone.

“Zephyr” a voice was heard gaining the attention of the three, it was Paxton, Haldir's half brother “I just knew it was you,” he said with a smile approaching them

“Oh well, what a beautiful coincidence, were you sent by Haldir?” he continued as he took a seat near the bar owner only then did his eyes meet that of Nimai “oh even better!” he remarked with a smirk as Zephyr immediately grew protective grabbing onto Nimai's hand

“So he let her move around freely, guess she wasn't that special after all,” he said still looking at Nimai

“Sir Paxton, lovely having you here, should I get my girls,” the bar owner said awkwardly but she had spoken late perhaps she was taken unaware, Paxton didn't spare her a look, he was fascinated by the person in front of him

“Fancy seeing you here, but we were on our way out before you arrived,” Zephyr said grabbing Nimai's hands and standing to leave, Nimai recognized the fellow before her, she realized he was familiar and concluded she might have meant him at the party and she wasn't wrong, the way his eyes traveled her body stirred something in her, anger but she wasn't afraid of him, or perhaps the trust she has on Zephyr, she believes he wouldn't allow that man touch her.

“No stay and have a cup of wine with me” Paxton ordered his voice sounding agitated

“We won't do that!” Zephyr said still standing now hiding Nimai behind him as the bar owner signed deeply for the intending fight about to take place....
