Chapter 15

1749 Words
Gildor stood on a high ground with his hands folded behind, he wore a bright blue garment richly decorated with gold jewels, he had on a beautiful bright smile which Nimai no longer found sweet, nor find the need to return, she stood inches away looking at him with her head held up high for her days of meekness have come to an end, "Nimai" he called out in his usual soft tone, Nimai held her gaze refusing to waver "Yes your majesty," she politely answered bowing her head, he took a step forward and held her chin looking deeply into her eyes "Why did you challenge the princess" his question didn't come as a shock to her, in the past she would wonder how he managed to know everything but now finding out about his powers and the reason he goes around with the mysterious looking rod everything made sense. "I would never challenge your sister, I only refused to break your rules" she answered calmly, he was moving away from her, she is beginning to see a different side of him everyday, "What did you learn today, is the spell book helping you" he asked her with a smile "Am afraid you are making it too hard for me to speak your majesty," he smiled before moving away, even Gildor can't explain his strange and sudden behavior towards her, he has come to realize he wants more than her power, his limitless taste for power which made him approach her has turned into another strange urge, perhaps obsession, he wants her to himself alone, he can't stand her speaking to anyone male or female especially his own younger brother, and her sudden change in character since her power awakened has been like an energy house intriguing him more and more to her. "The spill books are hard to decipher especially the one which you asked I learn," he quickly concealed his dissatisfaction with her answer and moved further away "You must have heard of my decision to pick a wife," Gildor said studying her expression "Yeah, I couldn't help but wonder when his majesty was planning to let me his supposed only friend know about that" Nimai answered, Gildor chuckled at her boldness "I like the newfound courage Nimai, but do not overdo it, cause even I don't know how my patient works" "Am sorry your majesty," "Why do you care? Am the Emperor it's only right I pick a wife," "Congratulations in advance on your marriage, I just couldn't help but feel a little disappointed, your majesty had assured me I can talk freely to you and forget the title," she said calmly approaching Gildor with a forced smile "You are rather too careless Nimai, never forget a title, you are my subject" he cupped her chin roughly while having a devilish smile on his face, "we can't be equal Nimai, I am the Emperor of ARVERNINE and you are my maidservant who happened to be special,” he paused before continuing. “you are very beautiful," he suddenly said surprising Nimai, it wasn't the first time he complimented her but it was the first time she felt he was being too close to her face and grabbing her chin roughly. "Never allow a scratch to find its way to your face," he said inspecting every inch of her face, 'What is happening?' Nimai said within, feeling sick, she closed her eyes and allowed him, she avoided his gaze, as she began to panic, she had been noticing his change of character but it was going out of proportion, this wasn't the man she adored. Nimai gathered her courage and pushed him, her eyes began to glow startling Gildor, "What are you doing Nimai?" he asked and immediately held her shaking her, she was losing control of her body as her power was taking control over her, and he immediately grabbed the rod chanting a spell with his eyes close. "Breathe, Nimai, Breathe," Nimai who was losing her breathe recovered and fell to the ground from weakness, "Stay away from me!" she screamed at Gildor, the Climate changed turning chilly, Nimai moved away from Gildor and began to look around only then did she notice the figure standing in the dark staring right into her eyes, again she felt her legs going weak and without holding back she was pointing at him. "Blood, blo bloodsucker," she said struggling with her words while pointing at the shadows, she immediately dragged the Emperor "He will kill us as he did to my parents!" she shouted with fear but Gildor had a huge smile instead while looking at the strange man approach them, he stood inches away with a long black coat and long Silver hair. Haldir thought it was finally time to make his presence known. "You must be the young ruler of ARVERNINE" Haldir said avoiding the panicking face of Nimai "Do not listen to him, he was the monster I told you about, an evil creature" Nimai cried while Gildor continued to approach Haldir... HALDIR Every day I stand by the shadows watching her and the young power-thirsty Emperor, all this while she was in the castle and a maid to the Emperor, a power-hungry manic, quite fascinating how the human mind works, using his mastermind plan to become king still his quest only got started, I had overestimated witches thinking they were smart and very articulative but perhaps the supposed child of prophecy is gullible and only sharp tongues, watching her go ahead with every of his plan without thinking is upsetting and stirs something in me, "Should I just kill them all" I have found myself asking no one numerous times, she is weak both in powers and spirit still I can't decide what to do with her, "kill her or break the curse?" that only she can do, how can I get her to break a curse when her powers are as weak as air, she seemed different from the girl who's power left me in shambles, her meekness irritates me, every day she acts like she is getting wiser but in the end, she displays the opposite succumbing to power, not asking questions she is supposed to, were witches always these easy to rid on, taking her away with me wouldn't take me more than a night. It had turned out that the royal who possessed the silver hair was only a tool to lure me to my curse, that am rather grateful, Oleathea would never have reincarnated as a royal of ARVERNINE anyway. Their Blood runs from a long line of treasons and taboos, tyrants and killers. "What is your name and how did you enter my castle," he asked me unable to hide his pleased expression, the scent of his blood enveloped me, she had injured him with that push, and his blood disgusts me rather than entice me. "I have a feeling you know what I am," I said to him with a smile, his expression might be hard to read but his thoughts are like an open ancient book, full of dirt and gut, he knows who and what I am but has no fear rather he is glad that to meet my kind. I looked over at her, her trembling hands turned into agitating anger, she averted my gaze, and just like I expected she faced the Emperor with her eyes burning with anger, I could swear I saw her eyes turn blue but it was gone. "Invite me into your home, Emperor Gildor, I came from a long journey to see you, I know that which is in your heart and I will grant you your deepest desire, just allow me in," I said solely on purpose since the young witch is easy to ride on, I suppose it would as well be easy to break the tiny trust she has for the Emperor entirely with just one word from the Emperor. "You must have traveled from a far place, are you really an immortal you look very much human," The Emperor said, humans are easy creatures, just tell them what they want to hear, when they want to hear it and everything is set for you. "Nimai, set up a room for my guest," he said to her not even looking at her, I have taken up half his mind already. "Do not worry, I need no room, I just want you to invite me in, where I rest my head won't be a problem" "Your majesty" I hear her tiny voice call out as I walk in with the lunatic leaving her behind... "You don't look too surprised nor disappointed," Nicholas said from nowhere "How long have you been watching," Nimai asked with a teary eye "From the beginning, his majesty proposed marriage to BATILOI because he smells a war breaking out soon from them, he plans to stop and prevent a future war with the marriage” Nicholas explains “Why are you telling me these things that I never remember asking for? I do not care for what reason he is trying to marry, I am only but a subject to his Majesty, a common maidservant who only happens to be special, I do not have a say on anything concerning his majesty,” Nimai said, Nicholas kept quiet only looking at her, for some reason he always felt protective towards her, he understands she was hurting especially for the fact his majesty just welcomed a man who killed her parents after telling her in Quotes “I wish I am a powerful creature, I would have killed him myself”. “I have been a fool, Odede was right,” Nimai said “I do not know his majesty, we only met and I felt I have found my person, forgetting the most important thing, he is the Emperor, not some common individual, he has done the most by saving me from death,” Nimai said while going in, Asteria was seeing waving and calling on her but she ignored the younger and continued on her way in. “What happened to her,” Asteria asked approaching Nicholas who only looked at her and ignored her “What's with your attitude, you never reply to me” Asteria complained while sulking “Huff, you are ugly anyway,” she said before running after Nimai “ wait up! what happened?”
