Muiri's POV:
As soon as I arrived Trois-Rivières, I knew that I couldn't stay for long. It was clever of me that I "borrowed" some money from Aidan. I was still unsure about escaping from him but I started a way and I won't back down that easily. And for real? What would that happen once he found me after escaping? Beat me? Leash me? Bite me or you say, mark me?! No. I don't want to be chained someone. Freedom is all I ask from this hell of a world. Even if I would be miserable in the end, I would be a free one. That is what it all matter.
I planned to go to Ottawa as my next destination. It is a crowded city compared to Trois-Rivières and it would be easier for me to hide and blend in for a moment. My main destination is my home. I know once my mom and dad sees me they will help me to hide. They did say all these painfull things to me out of fear but once I reach them, they will make me feel home again. But first I need to fill my stomach a bit. I need my energy and stamina.I bought a hotdog and started to eat it while walking. A shiver run through my spine as I idly stand by a corner and instinctively I started to look around. I couldn't see anyone suspicious but my gut feeling screamed to me to skedaddle. I started to walk as if an olympic champ in fast walking but my anxiety grew more as I felt a presence right at my back. I was praying to god for it would be Aidan but as that shadow loomed over me from my back. And then a big hand touched my shoulder and made me stop. Starting to shiver like a puppy when I faced with the shadow I flinched for it wasn't Aidan. I was both relieved and scared. I hate how my life became a fuss like this thanks to that lunatic. "C-can I h-help you?" I asked to the man who towered me, as intimidating as Aidan. He has azure eyes, blond hair shining like threads of gold. Even under the dim street light, I could tell how handsome he was. But beautiful faces makes life strenuous. "Sir, if you don't have anything to say to me, I would like be on my way. Have a good night." I retorded and frowned. He didn't make any movement as if I didn't speak to him and tell him to leave me alone. He was just looking at me and then started to sniff me. "Excuse me?!" I snapped at him and due to the night time, there were few people so that my nervousness continued to grow more and more. Then a shocked expression has shown on his face. "Do you know the Lycanthrope Prince? Do you know Aidan Ivanov?" he asked. My hands became sweaty as soon as I heard his name. Aidan. "N-no. What kind of nonsense are you talking about?" I berated him and he pull away his hand on my shoulder. "No need to be nervous. I am not your enemy." he smiled and he became even more handsome. I didn't reply and continued to look at directly into his eyes, sternly. "You shouldn't stand there so openly. It is dangerous. Let me help you." he reached out his hand gently. He was acting so kind towards me for an intimidating, tall framed weirdo. "Are you a friend of him? Are you a friend of Aidan?" I was still looking sternly and frowned. He chuckled sweetly. "No. Fortunately for me, I am not a friend of that monster." he shrugged and smiled. I can't lie, he made me annoyed when he spoke ill of Aidan callously like that. But I can't reveal myself to him. What I am to Aidan or who I am to Aidan.
So, I think I just need to play along. "Then you are a friend of mine, I guess. You are calling him as a monster so you must have seen what kind of a person he is. I am on the run, you know? So thanks for your concern but I have to be hurry." I said, closing my eyes and arrogantly. "Hmm? Are you runing away from him?" he said and smiled, moving his face close to me. Shoot! It was an blunder! "I-I am not runing away from him and even so, this is none of your concern." I berated him again and turned away from him then started to walk. But then, he again held my arm and yanked me. "Don't be naive, miss. There are so many lycans like me who are searching for prince's mate to kill her. Kill you. You should come with me. Don't worry. You will be protected in my territory." he claimed. "How can I know? I don't even know your name!" I hissed. Being a captive in a different prison?! Yea, hell no! "Oh, you are right. Where are my manners?!" he said and then cleared his throat. "My name is Elliot Hawk. It is pleasure, miss." he bowed. What a show off. He is pissing me off. "It is not a pleasure to meet you Elliot. Leave me alone. I'm done with you lycans, you brtual monsters. I am not meant for your world!" I snarled and once again tried to be on my way. But again and again, like a pestering child he held my arm to make me stop. "Who said that I am a lycan?" he c*cked a brow and pout. "Then what the hell are you?! You sniffed me!" I snapped at him and shoved his hand. Elliot chuckled and primped his golden hair back. "I sniffed you because you are reek of wolfsbane. I asked if you know the prince because I had information that his moon-given mate has escaped. You were acting suspicious and the wolfsbane scent was evident on you. I have no ill intention, believe me." he smiled awkwardly. I wasn't content with his answer, though. "You still didn't tell me what you are." I narrowed my eyes and continued to glare at him. He chuckled again. "Me and my family or my clan... We are hunters, werewolf hunters. And probably the only ones who can protect you. And you sure do not belong to the world of those beasts." he claimed and my jaw dropped. "Y-you are a hunter!" I was shocked but confused too. "You know what I am to Aidan. Why do you want to help me?" I asked again, frowning. "You may be his moon given mate. But still, you are a mere human. It is our duty to protect humans against those fiends." he frowned and clenched his jaw. It is evident that he detest werewolves and lycanthrope. For the first time in a long time, a feeling started to surround me. Hope.
"Not just that, miss. His father, the king, Oleg, is searching for you to kill you. You cannot trust any werewolf anymore. They submissive creatures. And it doesn't matter if you had friends or family of this race anymore. They will turn you in, no matter what." Elliot's claim wasn't wrong. I had seen how submissive they are, how cruel they are. "M-my parents would never..." as I talked, a painful memory pass through my mind. What my mom said, those words, they were all starting to torment me while I was standing before Elliot. What should I do? Then with an instict, I turned towards him. "Prove me." I said, sternly. Elliot smirked and put something out from his pocket. An orb, something sparkling inside of it. "We are calling this silver tongue. Once I break its glass, werewolfves who are around will start to shift or cough." Elliot said and laughed. "There are so few people." I stated sassily. "Because of that we will go a certain building where their base is." he smirked again. "Are you out of your mind?! A building full of lycans?!" I whispered angrily in case if there are any lycans or werewolves around. "Don't worry. Other hunters will be there too. I was here for spying the streets before operation. But now, I completed my mission and found you too. We can go to there now." he whispered while playfully smiling. After letting out a low yet long sigh, I started to follow him. If what he says true then I would be in a terrible danger. We walked and past through a small woods. Then I saw a hell of a big mansion. As I was looking at that mansion in awe I heard some rustling behind me. Someone jumped right behind me and I almost shrieked but that someone covered my mouth. "Why is she reeking of wolfsbane, Elliot?" a female voice said. "Cassie... This is a long story. I need to prove her that we are hunters." Elliot chuckled lowly. "Prove? Why should we prove something to this girl? Who the hell is she?" now she is annoyed, I can tell. Writhling between her arms, I tried to release myself from her strong grasp. But she released me first. Then again I started to hear another rustling came from deep inside the woods with a growl. "F*ck! They are here!" Elliot yelled and five other person jump on the ground, I don't know where they've come from this instant. "Draw your weapons. Crossbows to the back. Daggers side and herbs front with swords." a horse voice of a man said confidently then I saw, a scarred face, large built, emerald green eyes and brunette hair. As I started to look at that man like I saw an angel fell from heavens, our eyes met for a second and I flinched. "Stay where you are, little girl." the fallen angel said to me then walk to frontline where Elliot stood. "How many are they, Ash?" fallen angel asked. "I am sensing four but you know, those bastards can conceal their presence." a woman stands behind answered. Then in a sudden, again, a bloodshed. They were excelent fighters and killed five lycans as huge as Aidan in minutes. I could have never imagine that Elliot could fight like that. Not just him though I couldn't imagine any human being, could being able to fight like them! "It was five. Not four. Sloppy instincts like that hastens our graves, Ash." fallen angel berated the girl. "Sorry, David." she answered. So his name is David. Rubbing his nape, David turned his gaze on me then looked at Elliot. "Who the hell is she?" David asked and Elliot smiled awkwardly. "Okay, now. This is a long story but as you can see, she is a human." Elliot said. "I can very well tell she is not one of them. Why did you take her here?" David asked again. "She was on run." Elliot said and gulped then. David rolled his eyes and looked at Elliot sternly. "Why is this your concern?" he said almost growling. Elliot gulped and put on a stoic face then. "She is the reaper's moon-given mate." Elliot said hastily and gulped again. All others gasped, I heard them. As for David he frowned and clenched his chin. "You said what?! And you think taking the reaper's moon given here would be a good idea?!" David snapped at Elliot and grabbed his shirt. "Easy, easy! She needs help, okay?! And not just that. She knows so many things about him. We can use her intel." Elliot stated, forced a wide smile awkwardly but David cut him. "And what gave you the idea that she would cooperate?!" he threw Elliot to the ground and that move made my blood boil. "Me! I said him that I will cooparte if he is a real hunter!" I yelled at David. "And? Why is that?" David asked to me. "Because I didn't choose this mess! Because I didn't wanted to be a captive! All I want to be is being free. My adoptive family abandoned me! Then a enormous, psycho lycan told me that he will turn me into a f*cking beast! So, yes. I was and still am running away from him!" I started to fume. "That crazy bastard! Turning a mere human into a lycan! It is forbidden!" Cassie threw a tantrum. Others were too got anxious and air became heavy. "We should leave. Before other lycans scent the blood in the air." David stated and came close to me. Patting my shoulder gently, he saw I was trembling. "We'll protect to. You'll be safe. All I want you to do is tell everything about him to us." David said and pulled his hand away once he finished his sentence.
We got in a truck. The ride was silent for they looked exhausted. After a three hours of a long ride, we stopped before a cozy building. "Where are we?" I asked Elliot, puzzled. "Lanark, Ontario. And this is our base and our home." he answered and smiled sincerely. Lanark was a cute and small town. And its people were, well, you say, "normal". Once we got inside of the house, there was a few people. With me the households population was thirteen. "Are you all relatives?" I asked Elliot. Elliot sighed. "Unfotunately, yes. That brute of a man is my cousin, David and our leader. This is Cassie, but we call her Cass. This is Ash, Brenton...." while he introduced them with me with an exhaustedly gesture, my mind went blank. All I could see was that fallen angel, David. His emerald gaze was burning where he look at me, his brunette, tall figure was enough to make my knees wobble where I stand.
Contrary to Aidan, he has never smirked or looked down on me. He has an inoffensive energy not an aggressive one. Yes, he acted like it first but never towards me. "This is all of us. Now, you must be hungry. I screwed up your time with your hot dog." Elliot chuckled. "I am starving." Cassie said lazily. "I prepare something, before you came." a girl in kitchen said with a cute, thin tone and I believe her name is Alex. While I started to walk towards to kitchen, David placed his hand on my shoulder. "What is your name?" he asked. Darn it! How could I forget to introduce myself too. "My name is Muiri. As for my real surname, I don't know." I shrugged and David's face became sour. Was it because of my lame answer or he sensed my pain, that I don't know too. "Let's eat and rest. Tomorrow we will talk." David said.
"We don't have many rooms so you need to pick a roommate. You can always sleep with me." Elliot said and smiled widely until got a punch at his back from Cassie. "F*ck off, you vermin. She won't stay with you." Cassie snapped at Elliot. I first rolled my eyes at Elliot then chuckled. "You can stay with Ash, me or Alexa. Pick." Cassie said unimpressed, folding her arms. "I think you should pick. Who am I to pick one of you?" I said and Cassie's face got soften. "Then come with me. My room is the big one." Cassie said. I followed her to the bedroom. The small aisle we were walking has wolfsbanes hanging on its walls. I think, I choose my best option back there. Being here gives me security and comfort. When we reached the bedroom, I saw how cozy her room was. "You can either sleep with me or we can arrange a floor bed." Cassie said. I didn't want to be a nuisance so I simply agreed on sleeping beside her.
It was cold. But actually, the only cold thing here was my aching soul. My heart was beating with agony as I merely tried to sleep. Being annoyed from my wiggling inside the quilt, Cassie turned her face to me. "Is something wrong or are you always like this while you are sleeping or lying on bed?" Cassie hissed. Actually, I would be offended what she said but at that time I didn't care. I didn't want to show my tears to a stranger but it was too late once she looked at my face. "H-hey. I-I didn't mean to be rude. Ugh.. Are you alright?" she asked with a face full of concern. Being not able to answer to her, made me feel more frustrated. Then she patted my head. "Poor girl. What have they done to you? What kind of horrible things you saw that they are making you lay this anxious? Don't worry though. You are safe here. Oh! Wait. I'll bring something to you." Cassie said and jolted out from bed. Later a few minutes, she brought me a cup of tea. "Don't worry. It is wolfsbane. For a wolf this tea is a sudden death but for us it is a medicine. So drink up. It will make you sleepy." Cassie said and I smiled at her while thanking. To my suprise, after a few sips, it really started to soothe my nervousness. Feeling drowsy, I lay down on bed again, Cassie covered me with the quilt. With her stern voice she stareted to tell me stories about her fights. Just moments ago, I thought I'd never fall asleep. But sharing someone's warmth and hearing inoffensive yet stern voice were lulling me into a deep sleep.
In morning I went to downstairs with Cassie's sleepwear on me. At that time I saw every one of them lying, sitting and yawning lazily all over the couches. "Mo..oorn..iiieen!" Elliot yawned and I chuckled. "Morning, Elliot." I said too. But once again my eyes fixed on David who was checking his phone. He looked back to me too and I flushed like a tomato, I swear. In a sudden move I averted my eyes but his hoarse voice called my name. It made me flinched. "Muiri. I think we can talk now." he said. Nodding submissively, I sat down the armchair front of him. "Well, I don't want you to feel like I am interrogate you. So, please. You start wherever you want." David said. I mostly stated facts about Lycans nothing specific about Aidan. David was listening to me patiently, but after a while he started to massage his temples with his fingertips then tapped his fingers on couch's arm. Later, he stood up and stretched his arms out. "I really appreciate your efforts now but, we already know these facts about those beast. I need more specific intel about that beast, about the reaper." David said and a question pop inside my head. "Why are you calling him The Reaper?" I asked. David sighed then frowned. "I guess you don't know. But he is a horrible beast without humanity." he said sternly. I knew and saw how he can be vicious but... A monster without humanity? It was a bit exaggerated. "I... don't know. He was a bit aggressive, yes, and as some werewolves attacked us in Aklavik, he showed his beast form at its full and he was savagely violent but... They were actually... looked like... loving... him?" I murmured words timidly. David's eyes became wide open when I finished my sentence. "He, the reaper shift into his beast form completely?! And you saw him like that then still you are alive?" he said calmly but it gave me creeps. "Y-yes?" I said. I think he forgot that I am Aidan's moon given. And not just that, Aidan and other werewolves and lycans both can recognize people once they shift. I don't understand why he is acting like that.
For at least two hours we talked about everything I saw and know except Aidan's weakness for I honestly don't know if he has one. David started to walking around in living room we were talking. It made me nervous.
