ELIAS The midday sun shone down on the polished marble courtyard, making the ground hot with heat. I leaned against the car, checking my phone and waiting for the maids to put the bags in the booth. "Three days wasted on… catching up with an old friend," Madam Margaret hissed, her voice laced with mockery. "I couldn't even hold back. She's acting like because she's the Alpha King's mate, she's a better person than all of us." Ashley added. "She's disgusting." I ignored them, focusing on my phone instead. "Speak of the devil." My mother said, turning to face the entrance of the palace. Gemma merely tilted her head, walking towards us. I was still taken aback by the color of her eyes. I know for sure that they weren't blue before. But I couldn't ask her. "Are you leaving?" Gemma asked.
