Chapter 20

994 Words
I heard a maid gossiping about how we had unexpected guests from the mortal world.  Naturally, I was very surprised to hear this especially since no one decided to tell me.  I was pissed. Obviously. They were from my world. People from the mortal world can't come here. It's literally impossible. But tell me, mere weeks after I showed up, so do others? Coincidence? I don't think so. I burst into my father's throne room.  That's where he deals with unwanted guests. Well, when he wants to have fun with them at least.  I knew that I would find him here. I narrowed my eyes at the familiar heads of hair. There was three boys kneeling in front of my father. Why do I always have to save people from stupid s**t that they set their minds to? Naturally, they were about to be beheaded. "Damien, please. You know how hard it is to get blood out of the floor."  "Scarlett, what do you need now? The show was about to start. Why do you always have to interrupt?" "Because, it's embarrassing, but they're with me." I pinched my forehead. Kaleb took that moment to recognize my voice, "Lexi, thank God. Was he really going to cut our heads off?" "Yeah. Well, not him. But that dude right there." I pointed to a guy with an ax and Kaleb shivered. "Oh my god, just let them go. They aren't worth your energy."  "Fine." He waved his hand and the chains fell off. Kaleb and Liam ran behind me, but Nico sped over to my father and got in his face. Stupid bastard. "You have an interesting aura. Your daughter's is a lot like it, but a lot more controlling. You have the true fire in your magic." "You can see magic auras?" My father looked at him quizzically.  I would never tell Nico, but he was very special. I have never seen anything like him, and obviously, neither had Damien. "I can." He didn't move away from my father. The most interesting part is Nico wasn't afraid of my father at all. I couldn't tell if he was stupid or brave.  "I recommend you stay out of my face. Scarlett is the only reason you are still breathing. I'm surprised that she even cared enough. She does love asking for favors though." Kaleb snickered at my father's dissing. "Nico, stop now. He can and will kill you. The only reason he hasn't is that he finds you interesting." "That's the same reason you let me live, remember?" My father raised his eyebrows in surprise. "So my heir has been making a name for herself in the real world after all? I'm almost proud, but then again, no one could be proud of you." "Thanks, douchebag. But you're hard to take seriously considering you're more well known as a man w***e than a powerful god." I tsked at him. Kaleb kept giving me looks like I should stop trying to provoke him, but he started to get on my nerves.  I waved at servants that were behind me, "Get them all rooms. They are annoying me. I want them out of my sight. But remember, every single one of them is capable of killing you, so don't try anything."  A lot of servants liked harming and robbing guests when they think that they can get away with it. Hell gets a lot of bad reviews for the bad hospitality and that annoys me.  "Can everyone else also leave?" Damien asked. It surprised me. He doesn't ask. He just yells.  I turned to leave, already having used up more energy than I anticipated.  "Scarlett, I didn't say that you could leave yet." "You told everyone to leave. Last I checked, I'm everyone." "How did they get here?" He completely ignored everything I said. Rude. "I honestly have no idea. I didn't bring them, and unless you die, and they aren't dead, people can't get here." "Find out and tell me." To be honest, I had a small idea about how they got here. The power level that Nico has is astounding and I have a feeling he had something to do with it. "I'll do my best." "We all know your best has never been good enough, Scarlett." "You continue to underestimate me and yet you want me to be queen. You never cease to confuse." "At least I'm not predictable." "I never said that. There's a difference between thinking things through and being smart before determining your next move and not having two brain cells between you and all your advisors. That's just sad and extremely disappointing." "Interesting that you say that, Scarlett, because I was smart enough to manage to keep you here and make you marry the person of my choice. It is you who is disappointing." "Speaking of which, the wolf thinks he's my mate. How exactly do I tell him that I'm getting married in a week?" "Well, I thought you were the smart one. Figure it out yourself." "Whatever." Naturally, I had to char my father's beautiful floors on the way out because I'm petty. I almost felt bad.  I walked slowly to try to find a way to break the news to Liam. Honestly, I didn't care about breaking his heart or anything. It was mainly the clingy and possessive when he has no right to be - thing. So, I'm just gonna go in, tell him, and leave. I'm not gonna think about him afterward, and I'm only gonna port places so he can't track my scent.  I hate clingy people. And wolves. I looked in a room in the wing where the put guests. He wasn't there. It was empty. I checked room after room and on my sixth try, I found him. He seemed pretty happy that I had come to visit him.  "Liam, I'm sorry that you came all the way here for me because it's not gonna work, ever." "What are you talking about?" "I'm talking about being the heiress to the throne of Hell and being betrothed to a vampire." "No. I won't let you. You don't get to marry him." I don't get to? "I don't think you understand. I want to marry him." I sighed. "And I want you to leave."
