DIANA’s POV…..
FOUR YEARS LATER…
“Rora? Rora, dear, where are you?” I called as I walked out of the classroom. I ran my fingers through my hair, my heart beating like it would pop right out of my chest as I covered my face with my hands.
I took in a deep breathe as it felt like tears were starting to stream down my cheeks. I needed to be strong. I couldn’t start crying at this moment.
‘Pull yourself together, Diana.’ I muttered to myself.
“Rora… mummy is here. Stop playing pranks…” my voice was starting to get shaky as I took further steps.
I had been having nightmares lately and they all seemed to revolve around Aurora. In every dream, it felt like she was going to be taken away from me and that was the thing I feared the most. It’d been five hours since she was supposed to be back, but, there was no sight of her.
Sienna had gone to get her but had returned to say there was no sight of her. She’d checked everywhere, but still, there was no sight of my heartbeat, my daughter~ Aurora.
“Miss Thorpe…” I heard someone call in a sinister voice and before I could turn to see who it was, I was suddenly hit on the head and turning to see who’d called my name and hit me was the last thing I could recall before it all went pitch black.
.
I could hear the thunder from outside and I could hear the sound of the rain pouring. Even though I knew I was moving, probably in a car, I was too weak to do a thing.
“Mummy….” I could hear that faint voice call out to me. “Mummy!” Tears followed it and as I slowly opened my eyes, I saw her, with a knife placed in front of her stomach.
“Rora!” I screamed as I made to move, but before I could, I was held back as a silver knife was place right in front of me, too.
“Our dearest mother is finally awake, huh?” He asked me mockingly as I stared at Rora, tears streaming down my cheeks.
“Ronnie, you bastard!” I yelled at him as I tried to struggle, but as he placed the knife closer to Aurora, I was reminded that even if I could handle whatever he did to me, my dearest Aurora probably wouldn’t be able to.
“What do you want from me?” I asked as my voice started to get shaky.
“Hasn’t it always been clear from the start, Diana? I want you. You alone. To have you, if I have to kill this bastard you call your daughter, I….” I lost it. No one. Absolutely no one had the right to call my daughter a bastard.
“You fool!!” I yelled as I grabbed the knife from the man behind me, cutting Ronnie right across the hand as I grabbed his knife, pulling Aurora away from him as I pulled her to myself, putting the knife in front of me.
“Stay away from me, you bastards! I swear, I am going to hurt you if you move any closer.” I told them as the car came to an immediate stop, the driver turning to see what was happening, but, before he could react, I jerked his seat as I hit him right in the neck, where I knew he’d be knocked out. I’d learnt that at my former pack.
“What on earth do you think you’re doing, Diana?” He yelled at me as he stared at his hand. “Do you have any idea what you have just done?” He asked me.
“I don’t care.” I said, and immediately, I pushed the car door open as carrying Aurora in my arms, I ran out.
“Rora, listen to mummy. Run as far as you can. Try to hide, hmm? Mummy will be with you soon…” I told her, tears streaming down my cheeks as I put her down.
“And you, Mummy? I can’t leave you… I….” She’d always been this way. But, this wasn’t the time for us to show how much we loved each other. She had to get far. As far as possible.
“Just listen to Mummy, hmm? Run!” I told her and with tears in her eyes, she nodded slowly as holding on to her bag, she ran off.
I was done with Ronnie’s constant harassment and death threats towards Aurora. This had to end. Now.
‘Diana!’ I heard Sienna’s voice in my head. ‘I’m close to Aurora. I got help. I wish you the best of luck.’ She said, and, knowing my daughter was now safe, there was nothing holding me back.
In no time, they got out of the car as Ronnie stared at me, nothing but anger, bloodlust and hatred in his eyes.
“Go after the girl!” He yelled and just after the man made to go after Rora, I threw the knife directly at his leg as he fell to the ground, in pain.
“You little b!tch.” Ronnie rushed over to me and next thing I knew, my face was covered with two aggressive slaps.
I held on to my face as he grabbed me by the hair. “I’ve been easy on you all this time, have I not been? What more do I have to do to make you believe I really want you?” He asked me and immediately, I kicked him hard in the crotch.
“You don’t want me!” I yelled before kicking him right in the chest. “You want to harm my daughter, yet, you claim to want me?” I asked him.
I made to throw another kick, but, just then, the one who had been driving grabbed me as he threw me into the tree as I gasped in pain.
When did he regain consciousness?
I rubbed my eyes, it was raining and I had a bad fall, but, it wouldn’t stop me. I had to make sure my daughter was far away. Far from these evil jerks.
Ronnie rushed to me as he grabbed me by the shirt, punching me right in the stomach as I coughed blood, gasping in pain.
“I’m done chasing you, Diana. I mean, don’t you think you’re playing too hard to get for someone who was hit and run?” He asked me, and immediately he said that, tears streamed down my cheeks as I recalled what had happened all those years ago.
“If you’re not going to give in the easy way, I might as well have it forcefully.” He said, and, the moment he grabbed my shirt, I felt something hard come in contact with my head as I fell to my knees, blood coming out of my mouth as tears streamed down my cheeks.
“Come on, Boys. We’ll take turns.” He said and I felt my skin crawl. These bastards.
As Ronnie grabbed me, ripping my shirt off, before I could make to struggle, I heard that voice. The voice I could recognize from anywhere, no matter how long it had been since I’d heard it.
“Let her go.” It was very firm and even with all the noise and cold from the rain, I could still feel the shivers that were sent down my spine from that voice.
As Ronnie, still holding on to me, turned to face the one who had spoken, I raised my head, weakly, my vision starting to fail, and there he was, standing tall, the rain dropping from his hair to his forehead, then his face, and then the rest of his body like it was a paid actor.
“Alpha Kyros.” I muttered slowly as tears streamed down my cheeks.
