CHAPTER TWO

DIANA’s POV…..

My head was aching badly. I was feeling sore between my laps and I could feel the pain in my lower abdomen and as I slowly opened my eyes, I gasped as immediately, every atom of sleepiness disappeared.

I held on to my chest as I gulped, pulling the blanket to my chest as I looked around the room.

Where on earth was I?

The ceiling, the walls, the master sized bed,… everything… nothing was like I had ever seen.

I looked around the room as I held the blanket even closer to my chest as I gasped.

I placed my hand to my head as I tried to recall what had happened the night before and that was when it all dawned on me.

I slowly started to trace my hands around every inch of my body where I had felt his kisses, his masculine touch. I could still feel him between my laps and I bit my lips as a sudden rush of lust washed over me. Gosh, what was with the slutty thoughts?

I closed my eyes as regret washed over me.

Even if he was my mate, what would he think of me now? What if he thought because I was an omega, I was some sort of slut? I shook my head. No! With how he had protected me last night, for sure, he would know I wasn’t a slut of any sort.

“You’re awake.” Hearing that seductive voice from last night, I held on to the blanket tighter as I raised my head to see him, standing tall in a leather jacket matched with leather pants.

God! My mate was such perfection.

“There’s no need to do that. You’re fully clothed. It’s ridiculous.” He said and as I looked down to see that I was actually fully clothed, I felt as stupid as I could.

I gulped as I slowly got off the bed, gasping in pain as I held on to my lower abdomen.

“I….”

“You should rest. As my mate, I should take care of you, shouldn’t I? Especially after what happened last night.” He told me and staring at him, I almost wanted to cry.

He was so caring.

“I’m Diana. Diana Hart.” I said as I smiled.

He nodded as he stared at me. “Stay here. The maids will come attend to you.” He said and I raised my brows.

Maids? My mate had maids? Who was he? How rich was he?

“Maids? You…..”

“Alpha Kyros, everything is ready.” A lady in a tailored dress that seemed to be a uniform walked in and I gasped, but not at the maid, but at what she had addressed him as.

“Al…Alpha? As in, THE Alpha Kyros?” I asked, unable to believe that not only was the man I had spent the night with last night my mate, but also an Alpha, but not just any Alpha, THE Lycan Alpha King.

I covered my mouth, my heart ceasing to beat for a few moments before I staggered in shock as the maid dropped the tray on the table, bowed before leaving.

“These are the things you’ll be needing. Get freshened up.” He told me and I gulped as I stared at the tray.

I wasn’t myself at this point. I could feel my legs shaking. It felt like the whole world was spinning. Alpha Kyros, the most feared Alpha of all time, a man who cared about none, a man who hated Omegas more than anything was my mate? And, while I slept, he didn’t end my life?

Could it be that he was going to accept me? I shook my head, I wasn’t going to get my hopes up. He could be planning to reject me. He might have only considered me a one night stand. He might have spared my life to cause me greater pain.

“You’re…. You’re going to reject me, aren’t you?” I asked him, my voice all shaky, like I had caught a cold.

He smirked slightly as his eyes turned cold. “If I wanted to do that, would I have arranged the things I thought you needed for you?” He asked me and I bit my lips as I looked down.

I was passing off as stupid quite a lot.

“I’m sorry.” I said and immediately, he walked out of the room.

I gasped as I went straight to the bed, crashing into it as I giggled, kicking the air. Who knew? Who knew that Frederick’s betrayal would end up leading me to my dearest mate?

Damn, if I had known that a one night stand would lead me to my mate, I wouldn’t have spent all my time on Frederick.

I smiled as I stared at the door he had just walked out of before caressing my neck where he had kissed last night. It was definitely too sudden to fall in love, but with the mate bond, nothing was too sudden. I was in love with my dearest mate. I blushed hard at this.

In the coming days, I didn’t leave the chamber he had prepared for me. He came to see me often and he made sure I was doing quite well.

I didn’t know why he forbade me from leaving the chambers and I didn’t really worry because I felt good knowing that he didn’t reject me and actually made time for me despite being busy as an Alpha.

I didn’t know what the status of our bond was, but I knew one thing for sure. He wasn’t rejecting me and he definitely wasn’t one of those Alphas who turned their mates to slaves because of their hatred for omegas.

But, maybe I thought too soon. I should have learnt from what happened with Frederick to fall too soon for Alpha Kyros.

“Where is she?” I heard a woman yell and next thing I knew, the door was pushed down so I could see a brown haired, tall, and extremely beautiful lady who seemed to just be a few years older than me walk in.

“Diana?” She asked and I nodded as I stared at the two maids that followed behind her.

“What’s going on?” I asked and before I could await a response, I was met with a hard slap across the face as I staggered.

She grabbed me by the hair as she forced me to look at her. “Do you really think you stand a chance with Alpha Kyros, you filthy omega?” She asked me and I gasped in pain as I tried to get free from her.

“Alpha Kyros is mine, you hear me? You’re nothing but a filth, one that he picked off the streets and had a stand with, you hear?” She asked me as she pushed me against the wall.

I gasped in pain as my head came straight against the wall. I placed my fingers to my head as I started to feel the blood trickle down my forehead.

“What are you talking about?” I gasped in pain as I wiped the blood that had gotten into my eyes.

She chuckled as she turned to the door and just then, two guards walked in and next thing I knew, they grabbed me on each side as they started to drag me out.

“What are you doing? Let me go!” I screamed as I struggled to get away from their reach.

“Take her away!” The woman who hit me earlier yelled at them and I kept struggling.

“Who are you? Let go of me!” I screamed as I kept struggling to get free, but, next thing I knew, I was hit hard, right in my stomach as blood came out of my mouth as I gasped in pain.

“What’s going on here?” His thunderous voice sent shivers down my spine, but at the same time, it brought relief to me that he was here. My savior was here.

“Alpha Kyros.” I muttered as tears streamed down my cheeks.

He walked to us as he stood in front of me. “Elle?”

“You’ve been keeping this thing in this pack all this time, Alpha Kyros. I even heard that you two have some sort of connection. Alpha Kyros, I know this isn’t true. You…..”

“She is my mate.” He said as he helped me up and hearing him admit I was his mate in front of the people gathered made my heart warm.

I smiled weakly, but the smile didn’t last.

“Not for long, though.” He said before turning to the woman he had called Elle and wrapping his arms around her.

“I am sorry, but I can’t accept a she wolf like you. I have Elle and she will be my mate.” His words had passed through me like a spear and I gasped as I staggered in shock.

“B..but….”

“Don’t tell me you ever thought you stood a chance to be with me. I kept you here purely out of pity and how miserable I had seen your condition to be. I mean, you were literally at a bar, all drunk, looking to get laid…..” He stepped away from Elle as he came towards me and I gasped as I felt my throat go dry.

“You filthy thing, don’t tell me you thought you could be my mate. You, Diana, are not qualified to be my mate. You never were, you aren’t, and you never will be, so, while I am still nice, get yourself out of my pack and away from my sight.” He said and tears streamed down my cheeks as I remained rooted to the spot.

I had to be hearing wrong. This couldn’t be happening. Alpha Kyros, the same man that had said he wouldn’t reject me a few days ago couldn’t be sending me away like this.

“You…. Alpha Kyros, we’re mates. We…. The goddess… she…. You even asked me why you’d reject me if you’d kept me and….” He charged towards me as he grabbed me by the neck, squeezing it tight as I coughed, gasping in pain.

“You filths could never know your level. You recognized my name, so, you must have recalled that I despise your kind more than anything, so, what makes you think I could ever accept you, Diana?” He asked me and as I looked into his eyes, I could see them get darker, indicating that he was actually serious about all of this.

“You….you’re rejecting me, aren’t you?” I asked him, losing everything in me as I looked away from his eyes.

“Get out…. Now!” He said as he pushed me away, causing me to fall to the ground weakly.

I sniffled as I ran my fingers through my hair, raising my head to see the different people murmuring as they stared at me.

Of course, I’d be an object of mockery. I drew in a sharp breathe as I ran my fingers through my hair. I licked my lips as I raised my head to him again, hoping he would change his mind if he looked at me. Even if it was just once.

“Please, Alpha Kyros, don’t do this to me. You….”

“I, Alpha Kyros Infernox, rejects you, Diana….. What was your last name again? Y….” My heart shattered into more than a billion pieces.

I turned to Elle who had a mocking smile on her face and then Alpha Kyros, who, as usual, had a cold expression. I nodded as I got off the floor, staggering as I held on to my stomach.

Slowly, I started to walk towards the exit I could see. As I passed by his side, I stopped. I held on to my shirt as I sniffed.

“You don’t have to know my last name. You don’t have to reject me.” I said as I wiped my tears, my heart aching.

Thank you. Thank you, Alpha Kyros, for reminding me where I stood.” I said and with that, I made my way out of the pack without turning back.

The moment I stepped feet outside the pack, a loud thunderous sound sent me into tears as I fell to my knees.

Once again, I had been reminded that people like me had no future. This was my life. This was what it had always been.

I got off my knees as I started to walk to goodness knew where.

I didn’t think I could live this way any longer. I was done living this life. I was done hurting.

I could see the cliff not too far away now after walking in the rain for so long.

I’d end it all. Now.
