Our afternoon is spent listening, watching, and helping Mr Turner build a semi-permanent shelter. He has started by building the tents for Liam's and my families. This way, we can learn how to build them. Using the sticks from the palm branches, some rope from the attics, and holes dug in the sand, we make a solid foundation for the shelter. Four branch sticks form the corners of the shelter, another four become crossbeams to hold up the roof, and the rope ties the corners to make them secure. We also thread the rope through holes we made in the canvas of the tents to hold it up around the front and the two sides. The back is already protected by the wall of the Dome.
